€90 only :D Anyhow, I supply Facom on demand, so I don't care too much about sales volume of this model.
only 90...:eyecrazy: make Knipex look like a bargain.... :)
Cool coincidence. I recently got the 11mm. Wish I had this a long time ago as it speeds up doing brake bleeding on these rear calipers.
These wrenches are worth their weight in gold :)
I'd like a part number too. I tried Googling "Facom cutting pliers stupid design" but nothing came up.
Is anybody selling these yet? TIA

I found a discontinued Hultafors UK-Z at my local Screwfix at only £3.49 so gave it a try. Here it is compared my old style Stanley 99e. The UK-Z looks and feels very nicely made. It's fatter and heavier than the 99e. The screw on the side of the handle can be turned with your fingers which is pretty awesome.

Negatives. The blade retaining part looks less substantial than some other utility knives. One of the magnets, presumably used to hold the blade in place when the handles are open was not secured properly.

Due to its weight I think it would be very good for cutting carpet and plasterboard. It feels a little too unwieldy for fine trimming and opening boxes etc.

Weight
UK-Z = 246g
99e = 170g

Have you tried this one? I saw it in Bauhaus in Germany but didn’t know how good that be.

They had some other items on display like sockets, spanners, etc. But they did not feel any special for the price.

What car is this? Could you use an extension with swivel instead?

Maybe a a daft question..but it would be good to know.

The large wheel on the side is very similar to my favorite go to knife: Stanley FatMax Pro Retractable Knife 0-10-819. It's my favorite Utility Knife for a few reasons:

1. I have large hands and like the length as well as the slight bend and nub at the end. It requires less grip pressure to hold the knife during hard cutting tasks. Similar to an axe handle with the nub at the end.

2. The way I use the knife, retractable is a must for me.

3. The large wheel allows for quick, tool free blade changes. I find myself changing blades more often which leads to faster cleaner work. I also like the way the two halves rotate on themselves and do not come apart. I can open the knife with one hand and flip or change the blade with the other hand and be back to work in a few seconds.

4. If the wheel is tightened past the closing of the halves, it will pinch the blade and keep it in what ever position it is set at. I used to think this was a design flaw, but now I realize this is a handy feature. It installs way more confidence in the blade staying put when exerting big forces.

Unfortunately, this knife seems to only be available in the UK. I regularly see it for less than 10£ on UK websites, but it runs about $30 on US eBay. I own two now and would pick up a few more on my next trip to London, but its a hassle to bring knives home as I then have to check luggage.

CMT saw blades for wood and metal. Mostly made in Italy.

A little bit of Truper pliers. Some are made in China, some are made in Taiwan. Anyway, they are quite cheap and worth the money.
Thanks for the pics !!

Thanks Monte, I appreciate it! I think the Cornwells might become discontinued too, the latest ones I've seen are made in Taiwan. Darn shame if that happens because Witte makes great screwdrivers.

Do you know if Stahlwille and Hazet are definitely redesigned-handle Wittes? I trust your knowledge on the subject.

Hazet make three different styles / grades of screwdriver and it's quite feasible they all come from different sources.

The cheapest grade (I can't remember what they call them) are made in Slovenia. I assume these are the Oplast drivers Will mentioned above! Not bad drivers (good for the money) but not top end. I can get a set of 6 of these for €16 though - much better value than Taiwanese for similar money!

Next up seem to be the 'Hexanamic' with soft handles. Never tried these so don't know much about them.

Top end seem to be the 'Trinamic' with the black hard handles. Superb drivers in every respect. These are definitely German made, so obviously sourced somewhere different from the cheapest ones.

Most of the rebranded Witte drivers that I see are just that - obviously Witte drivers with another name on. Good drivers though.

Still both types on the Cornwell website but I wouldn't be surprised if the Witte ones get phased out, I have a set of the Taiwan made ones and Witte is better, but the square handles are ok if you like square handles.

Thanks to all! That helps a lot! It was something I heard recently but I was under the assumption of the last sentence in your post. I've been stand-offish of Hazet and Stahwille screwdrivers because there isn't much information on these...but thus far, I pretty much only need Hazet, Stahwille and Narex to have all the European screwdrivers represented in my "collection."

Marco,

They look interesting maybe Stahlwille are planning to release them at Eisenwarenmesse.

Have you seen any pricing?

The dealer I have an account with https://www.tbs-aachen.de/ say production starts in April so no shop pricing yet.

I plan to replace my my Snap-On stuff like the FX80 and Facom 1/2 flex head ratchets with them. No reason now not to be 100% Stahlwille in sockets and wrenches

The Enduro's had a short sales life with Facom...probably from 2002-2005. The red handle Ergotwist series came before the Enduro's and spanned 8+ years (they're in F96 but not the F92 catalog) and the Protwist that followed the Enduros are still in production today. The only problem with buying an older series tool is that warranty replacements will be from the current production (Protwist) series. SD

The screwdrivers that I really like are the Facom Enduro Series. Quite difficult to find them in Greece. I accidentally discovered them (almost all the line)in an English site

http://www.hdtools.co.uk/cart/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=19

Does any of you have experience with this particular store?
It has a very strange way to place your order.
Miskin, do you own any of these? How is the fitment on Philips screws? From my experience the best on Philips so far is the Vessel. I need to try the Wiha and Witte/ Stahlwille to compare though.

Like many I've got an assortment of screwdrivers, Wiha, Witte, Facom France old type, Vessel and PB Swiss. The PB fit Phillips the best for me and Vessel for any thing Japanese which these days use JIS/PH hybrid screws. The pure JIS cross standard non-camout has fallen by the wayside.

I think the current Facoms are probably better than my old ones.

All the Pozidriv drivers all seem to work well probably because the non-cam design is sound.
