Finally took these out of their boxes. Nice looking but a little smaller than I had hoped. Will sell these off cheap and go back to the Systainers/L-Boxxes/Tough Boxes .

Finally delivered the third of the NWS electronics pliers I found on sale. Turns out NWS makes a Classic Line and an Economy Line. The main difference is that the Economy Line has a smaller half lap joint versus the box joint on the Classic Line.

Overall, I'd say the Classic Line is more comparable to the electronics pliers by Knipex. While I did get a good deal on these NWS pliers, I'm not sure I'd spend the money on them otherwise.

Even comparing the nicer Classic Line NWS pliers to the Knipex, I think the handle material is nicer on the Knipex. Comparing the ESD pliers, the handles on the NWS ESD pliers are bulkier and less comfortable, and the molding/coloring of the name on the handles looks cheap compared to the crispness of the logo on the Knipex ESD handles. It's hard to compare the business ends of the two though, because so far I just have the Knipex in cutters and the NWS in pliers, so it's apples to oranges there.

Overall, I can't complain since I got lucky and found them around 75% off.IMG_20180603_171357665.jpgIMG_20180603_171640701.jpegIMG_20180603_171752986_HDR.jpgIMG_20180603_171824425_HDR.jpg

Has anyone seen or had a chance to compare side by side the socket wrenches or "clés à pipes" as they call them made by Facom vs. SAM? Supposedly both made in France but I know Stanley purchased Facom so it may no longer be the case. Any input from our friends overseas or here in the sates would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

The Facom set I purchased a few years ago was marked "Made in Czech Republic"

Yes, I’ve seen them both!

It was a few years ago, but I have a few of the Facom, and a colleague had a few SAM.

The finish of the Facom was much nicer, being a polished chrome whereas the SAM were a bit rough. I can’t really say how the overall quality compared as I didn’t use the SAM myself, but at that time SAM were used by the French armed forces, and they don’t usually buy ****!

Thanks for the reply Dave455, good to know as i was looking at Amazon.fr and it appears that the SAM was priced lower than the Facom but was not sure of the quality. Much appreciated :)

Well, I didn't sell SAM tools to Ukrainian armed forces, nor to Ukrainian defense plants. Nevertheless, I sold SAM and PTS tools to car service stations and heavy industry plants, such as NKMZ. And all my customers are happy with them.

BTW, new SAM roller cab:

Hello,

Any experience on how do the Stahwille cutters compare to Knipex and Gedore?

Thanks
Just got them, so can't say.

How do you go about finding the European made tools on Amazon?? I assume you can search by brand but the French made Stanley.......how do you find something like that?
Stanley is hard because I think they make some China look-a-likes too.
I was hoping the hex bolster would mean it was from France.
Caught it for a cheap price so if it was China it would be no biggie.

FWIW, the Finish 79 (polished w/ yellow & black ergonomic grips) are actually made by Schmitz (they sell directly = least expensive way to get them). Oh, and their cutters are excellent IME.

The Finish 72 versions are actually made by NWS IIRC.

I have the 200mm Stahlwilles as well as Knipex and older Swiss Wiha. I’ve never used Gedore. The Stahlwilles are the nicest to use, and those would be the only ones I would buy if starting over. Harder stuff calls for Knipex Cobolts, and multicore cables are cut either with Orbis EvoShark or Phoenix Contact branded 2-stage NWS cable shears.

The only issue with my SW side-cutters is that they have the old fashioned bloated VDE handles. So I can’t close the pliers drawer in my toolbox (HF44) with them on their sides.

do you have a part number for this tool I searched and mostly could only find plumbers wrenches classic styles.

SB-183-10-JC

I don’t think these pliers are readily available as yet, I’ve only seen them on the gedore.de latest releases website

Hello,

I was looking for a wrench roll, and when I was looking at the heyco catalog i fell in love :D

The fabric is very rough and well made. I was worried about small wrenches falling but it was not the case: they are very well protected.

I like the maxline line, but a whole set is very expensive so I bought one 13 and I'm going to try this to see If I need one set

What width inch cuts do those push mowers deliver ?
Look kind of narrow from the pic.

I don't know. I don't sell Stihl because their Ukrainian office has a lot of restrictions for their dealers. For example, if you are Stihl dealer, you have no right to sell garden tools made by other manufacturers :shocking: So I'm happy with Stiga.

Last week I have received the HEYCO- as well as the HEYTEC catalogues: they are very gently ! Their tools are oké!

Unbelievable!!!! Stihl is good, very good, but the´re others like Husqvarna, Dolmar, Zenoah,Shindaiwa,Jonsered, etc. who are not worser. A pré for Stihl is its availability all over the world; but why being so arrogant to stop other brands, that´s feodalism! I have a 192T and a Shindaiwa 450S both oké.

As I said before, I don't sell Stihl because of their restrictions. I'm the dealer of Stiga, but I can also sell Husqvarna, Jonsered, Maruyama, Zenoah etc. We don't have these brands in stock, but we always can supply their products on demand.

Newer VW is using a lot of torx. I decided it's time to get a screwdriver set, instead of just using bits as I have been doing.

Felo T9/10/15/20/25/30/40 set.

You'll want to add a T27 to that set, but they look good

Picked up a (incomplete) set of these. It says Quality Steel - Drop Forged - Germany. The sizes are odd, 14-15, 16-17 and 18-19mm, never saw it like that on any spanner.

They have no finish, so probably for factory of government use, smooth feel however. Can anyone id these? I'd like to complete the set, 12-13, 8-9 for instance.

Witte has a new ratcheting screwdriver. I guess this replaces their old 12-tooth Schröder one.

The ratchet ring looks very similar to Bahco, Stahlwille, OEMTools, Wera, Facom, etc.

I wonder why neither Felo nor Wiha has a decent ratcheting screwdriver in their product lines.

Very interesting. Been looking for a ratchet screwdriver that doesn't leave 1/4 bits stuck in the head of screws.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is the bulky end, one cannot access recessed screws with it or in confined spots
