Hard to know anything more than just having... assumptions. We are buying tools that have COO stamped/etched - but any country, anybody, anyone - can put what the hell wants... So, there is just intuition/feeling about it. Well, I have, also, some combo Bahco Made in France, but they are older type, have Bahco pruning shears Pradines, Made in France... But, probably nowadays, great deal of their tools is manufactured - far, far east. There is more than few examples of bending the rules regarding COO.

You can sometimes see the country of origin in the invoice if you import the goods. But some manufacturers believe that the phrase “Goods are EU origin except notification on the invoice” is enough. Anyhow, I don't import Bahco.

This one has a funny story. I bought it about 2 months ago. There was a good promotion of the new cutters/pliers made in spain but the store owner had this one for years and told me I could take it for the same price. He doesn't notice the difference between them. You can't imagine how much I paid for this piece?:)

Based on how much I have paid for likewise, or similar pliers/cutters, you bought them at half a price... Heck, I paid even less.

I have these, in the wrapper it is made in Spain but the pliers do not put anything. Nor did they bring that clik that mentions the packaging.

Yes, those corporate weasels could easily say that COO is for packaging only... It has been produced out of cardboard and plastics... These could be global materials and components.

In the US, indicating the COO is mandatory. The material can be marked on either the article or the packaging. It must be there when it is transferred to the customer. A friend learned the hard way when the feds showed up at his business. He wasn't arrested, but he did become licensed to apply such markings to anything that came in unmarked from his overseas suppliers.

Indeed. But, what assures us, really, that we have bought genuine, original products? I think it is confidence in honesty and truthfulness - it is not like China is capable of doing exactly or almost exactly same product and not capable of stamping Made in USA, or Germany, or France... Or whatever other country there is. I think that vast majority of forum members think of quality, foremost, not COO - but thing is we are assured, by previous purchases, that Made in USA, or Germany, or France, Japan for sure provide us with high quality items - and rightfully so - and any suspicion is under magnifying glass. We shall not avoid forgeries - but if there are numerous items, even legally misleading for customers, what is point in all of this? With buying quality things, here tools, we are buying confidence, honesty, friendship, history... Not just a tool - tool is just symbol - but whole lot of ideas and values.

A few years ago I bought a Bahco BLE300 stool, I had always had Bahco for a top quality brand but this is what I found: (foto). I was disappointed to see the finishes, I do not remember the cc.oo but I suppose China.

I live in Spain and I have a large collection of Bacho tools, even my roll cab is Bahco and no doubt their older stuff is definitely of a superior quality but the same can be said for most manufacturers today. Also I rarely buy tools online so I can see the quality of it in the store before I purchase. In your case that stool is of terrible quality and it beggars belief how that made it through quality control, it looks more like a counterfeit product than anything else.

NOS set of Walter No 360 flat ring spanners, 12pcs, 6mm to 32mm.
Very good fit, and lightweight for their respective sizes.
Be safe everybody!

(I hope you can see the image now)

Now is alright, thank you... Were they affordable? I guess I have been answered, or sort of: recently I bought set of wrenches, 6-22mm, marked Waggon, No. 900. I thought they were VBW - well, they still might be - by the marking Waggon - VBW also had marking Waggonit along with train cart. Monte, I believe, said that VBW probably never had production of wrenches - that those VBW were made by CWalter or WGB - apparently, did not matter, as those two had same owner, most likely.

Thank you, I paid 55 euros for them. I decided to buy them because I also have a set of CWalter spanners and the fit is second to none. They and very lightweight too. I will take a pic of the spanners too when I have the chance.

CWalter spanner set No 280 (in Facom pouch...). Not a very good pic but you get an idea, hopefully. My best spanners among Facom, Gedore, Fasano, Acesa simply by feel. Acesa is a close second for feel. All work great though, I also use Facom very much and I like them too. What can I say, I like them tools :lol_hitti

Also, my CWalter Z ring spanners, No 380. Great fit and feel also, these seem to have a surface finish that is "silverish"/slightly less refined.
All these were bought new not so long ago at comparable prices to the previous No 360 set. I don't know if they are in production any more.

Be safe everybody!

Well, you have not missed the place!
BTW, great wrenches... Texture is what is commonly known as satin chrome finish - almost exclusively used by german manufacturers

Thank you OMMP. I have also found a set of Rahsol ring spanners that I like a lot, these also have satin chrome finish.

Well, these are ones... Maybe I reacted too quickly!? Pics are bad, I have took them under... unpleasant conditions. Alongside - larger than manufacturer produced, at least by one wrench - are two open end wrenches... Rahsol, surely

Well, they are all new - but out of two different series... Two of them stick out - I have bought them off of a guy that later became my friend

Hello Monte.. looking at German pattern engineers hammers... any idea if Gedore and Picard have some crossover? (One making hammers for the other?) or if they are separate...

this style is what I'm talking about: https://piehtoolco.com/contents/en-us/p6688.html

I like the look of Gedore's Induction Hardened hammers quite a lot.

These hammers are known as DIN 1041 hammers

The majority of Bahco pliers are made in Spain probably even out of the same factory. After all they are part of Snap-On Europe and a Snap-On Industrial brand. For example looking at the Bahco 1520G I can see they were also made in Spain and the handle/grips look similar to the other pliers they offer.

The Bahco striking cap/heavy duty screwdrivers are made by Irazola out of Spain.

Sorry
They are made inside spain.: thumbup:

Clearing out some barns at work. Box of Snail Brand and other large 'Made in England' spanners are going in the skip/recycling. Such a shame. :(

I wouldn’t chuck those mate!

A half day soak in evaporust, or a bit longer in a boric acid solution, would see those as good as new!

No way those should be wasted... I know that if I could, I would even buy them. Old good steel wire should be just fine... Nothing odd with them. Just keep it if you can

Owner said I could have them but I just don't have a use or room for them. I've given tools to a local charity before that send them off to Uganda, Zambia etc but they only take metric. I ran out of ideas.

set of phosphated keys Ega master. They don't seem of much quality, but the price was correct € 10 (about $ 10.78).

I’ve used some of those DIN (German standard) pattern single open end wrenches. Although they are relatively inexpensive, if they are to DIN 894 they generally seem to be of good quality and last well!

Good deal at €10!

This little Facom R1PICO kit came today from Amazon.

5xXPGos.jpg

Learned about it from this Garnett Tools video. (Video is cued to the beginning of the section about this tool).

The kit I bought cost less than the ones in the video, $65.19 including shipping. Bought from Amazon.UK, but through Amazon.com.

That Facom bit ratchet is one of the best bit ratchet sets out there. It’s so cleverly designed and compact.

Wow, great find! I picked up two of these a little while ago for the kids’ toolboxes, and couldn’t find pricing near that. Very well spec’d kit! Only needs SQ1 and SQ2 bits to fit pretty much any situation one might find in the US.

Not a new purchase, but since we are staying inside due to the pandemic, here is the 1/2 Facom set I now use the most. The box is very practical, I hope it is durable too. The feel and size of ratchet is right too and I like 12point more than 6point sockets. The ratchet is stamped "Italy", no COO on the rest.

Be safe everybody!
