A member here mentioned tools in 1/64" increments, I'm familiar with 1/32" stuff but never heard of stuff in 64ths. Anyone have any info/pics/links/anecdotes?

I own a few, but they are buried in the barn, so I cannot remember what manufactuers names are on them. Check out "Alloy Artifacts", as they have the most comprehensive tool history collection that I know of.

I have a couple Gedore (India made) box wrenches with /64ths sizes. I can't think if I've ever really used them.

Wrenches are avaIlable in 1/64 increments if you need them. If you don't need them, don't spend the money.
You aren't going to impress anybody worth impressing with a toolbox of tools you can't use.

-harbor freight carries them, none in 32's though, at least none that I've seen yet were out by a whole 1/32".

(sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm not HF bashing here by suggesting their wrench sizes are out by a 64" , just havin fun. I've never even been in a HF store.)

My Craftsman midget set has a couple a of combinations one is a 13/64 and the other is 15/64. Don't think I ever used any of the wrenches in that set. I did not buy them, they were part of a set I got as a gift.

This ^^^ I may have something larger in 64ths in the "old tools" I have yet to inventory, but nothing sticks in my mind... :dunno:

My 1996 NASCAR Cup car has front ball joints that are in either 32nds or 64ths. Weird size. I think they are from the 60's Chryslers originally. I had to get a special (read expensive) square socket to deal with them.

Oh I plan on getting these, along with a full set of Whitworth tools. I'll set aside a drawer for them, lined with velvet and rich Corinthian leather. And once a week, I'll take them out and caress them tenderly.

I have a SuperQuality 1/2 drive 12 point deep in 53/64. No idea what application it was used on.

"SuperQuality"? Is that actually the brand name? COO?

Make sure you really roll the 'r' in Cor-r-r-r-inthian when you say that.

I have in my hands a 1/2" drive Indestro 25/32" socket I recently inheirited. No idea what you would use it for. Happy to sell this valuable rare antique to an appreciative collector to finance my classic car collection.
