How many of you guys have tools in the room with you right now? I keep an F936 with 3/4'' deep socket on it in my living room here because I like to pick it up once in a while and listen to the wonderful sound it makes. I also have a vintage 1988 OEXM160 close by too. :)

I have my Matco fabric bag with my "pick-n-pull" junkyard tools in my office, along with my Blue Point plumber-style box with my "trunk tools" that go in the car on trips.

I have four Chinese folding utility knives in here. A Sheffield, two Huskys and a Craftsman.

A rust-pitted pair of Channellocks and a Craftsman #2 Phillips over by the pellet stove, and a pink Snap_On ratcheting screwdriver in the kitchen drawer.

The truth is I have a DeWalt "contractor" bag absolutely crammed with a variety of handyman tools. I submit that bag is the greatest single-bag/box collection of tools ever assembled. It's my "go-bag" and I can do an amazing amount of repairs/fixes with just its contents...

I also have a fully-equipped electrician's bag in the room.

Both of the above contain Snap-on ratchets - a 3/8" and 1/4" respectively - ,and that is about the only overlap to this board's subject-matter!

I have to admit, though, that if I wasn't staying with a friend "between" homes, neither would actually be in my room...

I have various tools laying around in every room. Mostly because I am lazy. Oh... and we still haven't taken the Christmas tree down yet either.

I've got a Klein canvas bag with a couple of go to items that I keep in the house all the time. It's got a utility knife and spare blades, a Irwin 10 in 1 screwdriver, 16' tape measure, 6" adjustable wrench, 6" Channellocks, and a flashlight. Keeps me from making a couple of trips a week into the garage for a tool.

My bedroom is what use to be the garage and I still keep my roll away in here, next to my pillow. No I am not single, my girl just puts up with it. She says she likes that I take such good care of my tools. " If you take such good care of those tools then when we have kids you will take good care of them" is what she tells me. :)

$15 cordless screwdriver that's, surprisingly, got so much torque you could hold the fixture and rotate the house, 1/4" socket set, LED torch - from assembling a new desk, Ken Onion Chive - lives on my keyring, and my uncle's Fairbairn Sykes. The latter's in a display frame, though.

Translation: "Flashlight" in British-speak. (I'm fluent!)

Cool. Wish I had one, (though I have no immediate practical use for it)...

I think that's something I'd like to avoid having a practical use for, if at all possible :shocking: That one's never seen action, it was a presentation item, I believe my cousin has his (No. 6 Commando) issue knife.

I have a model railroad room in the house (right next to our bedroom) and have some miniature versions of the garage tools in that room (small mill, drill, lathe) small drill press, saws, soldering bench, mini spray outfit, small compressor, stacked toolbox, along with some standard carpentry tools.

My wife puts up with it -- I used to tarvel a lot on business, so now she likes that I stay home with my "hobbies".

well I am at work right now and I currently have these tools in my office:

needle nose pliers
25ft tape measure
6 inch dial caliper
0-1 inch micrometer
6 inch scale
machinist square
small vicegrips
6 inch cresent wrench
racheting cable cutter
(2) ratcheting 8-1/0 AWG wire crimpers

we are currently having a new building built and when it is done I am thinking of getting a tool cart to keep in my office that I can roll down the hall into the R&D shop when ever I need to work on somthing since the company tools ****

if I was at home sitting in my chair in the livingroom my tool box is about 15 feet away in the dinning room since I dont have a garage yet

Yes I am married and it was her idea to keep the tool box in the house, I was gonna put it in the shed out back
