davethorik when you bought your Hozan P-221 chain pliers did you have to pay any duties or import fees? Did you just pay for the pliers and shipping from the ebay seller. I have the P-220 pliers and love them but would like the P-221's. Thanks

I ordered a pair from ebay last night and got free shipping. There's no duty involved.

Picked up a little Trusco T190 tool box. I needed a small parts box for my 2 stroke case splitter that has about 10 pieces and was just loose in one of my tool drawers, my OCD finally got the best of me. Nice little box...

Vessel has become my screwdriver of choice. I really like the Megadora 900-series drivers, especially the JIS cross style as a universal alternative to Phillips.

posted a thead on this mitoloy set for komatsu. Someone had to have bought a set of these. I don't know what they were marketed as far as what equipment, when, or how much. Pretty neat.

Advice Alert!

I have the Robert Herder kitchen knife both Stainless and Carbon steel, see photo below.

I am looking similar one with sharp thin blade made in Japan.

Any feedback would be more than helpful.

Those look like sheepsfoot style paring knives, about 90mm blade length, yes?
Hi M6erfan,

About 90 mm blade and very thin , probably 1 mm and a bit at the top max.

Take a look at the MAC superior 4" paring or the Tojiro 3.5" paring. Both have the blade shape similar to those you pictured. Chefknivestogo.com has a ton of knives with specs to give you some helpful ideas...

Good luck!

A couple weeks ago, I purchased from Frankstools the Anex 1/4" drive, hex and Phillips (#2 and #3), damaged fastener remover impact driver set. I paid about $65 total with shipping (including a 10% discount given during the sale). Here are some pictures:

Nice Vessel! It seems very similar to the Anex 1550 are made.

<img border=0 src="http://matchbox.persiangig.com/anex1550ph.jpg">

I see it differently.
The Anex is the standard type of ACR, while Vessel's is unique. The new Jawsfit seems like it's more of a feature to hold the fastener.
The traditional ACR is a feature that works to stop the cam-out force. It makes me wonder how well this new Jawsfit works.

The basic difference between JIS and regular phillips is at angles.( both screw&driver)

Now If the blades are grooved, can not create a change in the angles. I think it works well.

You're misunderstanding me. When did I talk about JIS versus Phillips?
Please re-read my post. :)

Cwalter,

Those are made by Sunflag.
It's their 215-P model: http://www.sunflag.co.jp/english/products/page_date/page11.html#215-P :)

I have Sunflag 215-P. I see it very differently with Star! Sunflag handle, has an ellipse cross-section. In the photos below you can see the difference between three different brands. Star - Sunflag - Champion

I got a Sunflag here, PH2 with a gripper.
I used it to remove plastic rivets on cars.

Happy 2017 year to all and that the Japanese bring you many of their good tools. :)

Happy new year to you as well. I'm planning on picking up a fair amount of KoKen, at least, this year.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!

SK11 appears to be all made in Taiwan.

I just ordered this awesome tilting socket driver from Amazon JP

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B01M1N4IW0/
41fGXH9BhQL._AC_US160_.jpg

That style of wrench, with the universal drive was originally made by a company called SUNKEY aka SANKI (I don't think they exist anymore). They got the Good Design Award back in 1991: http://www.g-mark.org/award/describe/17916?locale=en

I believe they were the OEM for Mitoloy

imgrc0072159061.jpg

img10243566347.jpg

TOP, for example, offers it in deep offset:

PRW-3LA_head.jpg

It seems like companies like SK11 and SEK have decided to outsource this style of wrench from Taiwanese ODMs, and have them merge the deep offset pattern and the universal design into one wrench.

Since we're talking about SK11....yeah, I think most of their stuff is from Taiwan, including this set of wrenches I got. Nicely made and finished:

:pimpflash I stand corrected! Thanks.
