I feel like every toolbox i've opened since I was a kid has had at least one, or probably all of these items in it. I thought it would be fun to see if other people have things to add.

1. Craftsman screwdriver(s).

2. Stanley tape measure.

3. Channellock pliers (420/430/440)

A single pipe wrench between 6 and 10" in size with half of the teeth broken off or sheared flat, a small torpedo level that often has one missing or broken bubble tube, a surfoam plane, a small 70's junk Taiwanese 1/4" SAE socket set with half of the pieces missing, a vintage bulb style coolant tester, and a combination square with a scribe needle that's AWOL. I see that stuff in almost every "average homeowner" toolbox I have ever looked in.

99% of the time that tool is used, there is a much better/appropriate tool to use.

Ah, memories! My dad always had a well-used assortment of the Cman acetate handle screwdrivers when I was growing up... And those are the ones he normally let me use, not his Snappys! There were always a couple in the kitchen junk drawer too, and I always thought they smelled bad because that drawer was over the garbage can! Now I relish the smell of a new Cman acetate driver [emoji16]
