My father in law has a flat blade screwdriver (not sure if he ever found the Phillips), a flash light, some rusted cutters, a wood handled rusted hammer held together with electrical tape, and some sort of black and decker drill kit. Poor guy can't fix a thing.

Most of my friends have their own shops and have some great stuff. Others have tools, but more along the lines of HF and HD.

I find that people who actually use their tools (and tool polishers) buy quality stuff. I would think everyone has some screwdrivers, pliers, and a hammer at the bare minimum.

I feel like every toolbox i've opened since I was a kid has had at least one, or probably all of these items in it. I thought it would be fun to see if other people have things to add.
1. Craftsman screwdriver(s).
2. Stanley tape measure.
3. Channellock pliers (420/430/440)
Good call.
1. I have that one but don't remember what I got it for. No matches so I may have bought it singly?
2. A friend worked merchandising Home Depots over 10 years ago and I ended up with a Fat Max tape.
3. I got a pair of vintage plain handle 420s off a member here and shrink-tube wrapped the handles.

Book of matches that are so old, they'd survive a forest fire.

Hopefully advertising some long-gone business.
Bonus points if the phone number on it begins with two letters, example: JL5-3400.

got a very old matchbook with my grandparents old number written in it

LU9-3796

my dad will NEVER get rid of that, my grandfather wrote the number in it for him

gotta be lates 50's

Ugh Mk3, that worthless Craftsman 4-way keychain screwdriver.
I've had mine since '87, haven't used it once, but can't bring myself to throw it away.
I am still convinced someday in some way it'll Macgyver me out of some kind of jam.

THATS WHAT THAT IS!!

Durrr. I bought a Craftsman screwdriver set last year and it came with it. I assumed it was just a fancy Ketcham and threw it away. I didn't know it had a use haha

You all are forgetting the 5lbs mini sledge. At least I wouldn't want to not have it.
