old ratchets in styles, brands I don't have, old snap on sockets for cheap, unusual specialty wrenches or tools some of which I have yet to figure out, hammers, and pry bars for some reason, If I cant beat the something into submission, I can pry it off.

At the flea; anything Snap-On, when you get things for .50, $1 etc., how can you not buy them? I especially love Snap-On ratchets and wrenches.... can you ever have too many? :) I have so many Snap-On hard handle screwdrivers that I have bought for a dollar or so... its crazy! But I can't seem to pass them up! :)

Another ratchet guy. Typically looking for made in the USA non-truck brand from the late 40's to 1970's.

Partial to Williams and Indestro Super and always on the hunt. I keep buying Williams S-52's and can't help myself since most I have seen are so cheap. And of course ever time I get one in my hand I say to myself "I need this" and of course the "I'm going to use this someday" :lol_hitti.
Many times I come home from the farm type garage sale pretty dirty from digging around on my hunt for those elusive ratchets

I quite telling my family about my finds since they roll their eyes and you can tell they are thinking to themselve's-"just like grandpa"

The International tools from the 70's and 80's. Recently I completed a set of IH combo wrenches. Spent almost four years on the set. Now I'm working on a 3/8" socket set and filling up some socket rails.

I also can't walk past a bunch of ratchets without picking up at least one of them and giving it a quick spin.

Sockets. It seems Im always trying to fill in holes of my existing sets. But its futile. Ill see others that I like, which of course means yet another incomplete set.

Any of Snap-On's hardline tools, ratchets, sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc...... I often go on the truck and start going through the drawers of sockets and end up buying a set that I don't already have. Problem is that I have most of them so I move on to the pliers drawer and then the extensions drawer........OMG it is a vicious cycle, I think I need an intervention!!!!

Any old metal fab tools and equipment made in Ohio. I also look for old Wright, Williams, and SK stuff at sales.

Anything USA. On Saturday, I bought a Porter Cable finish sander I didn't really need, just because it was in the original box "Proudly Made in the USA." BTW, does anyone know the COA of the current generation of Porter-Cable quarter sheet finish sanders?

As far as the bigger stuff, it's Snap-on and Kennedy boxes. I've got nine Snap-on and nine Kennedys. They're not all full yet, but working on it.

Just looked it up in my McFeely's catalog. They're nice enough to list the COO on pretty much every product in it. All of the Porter Cable sanders listed are made in Mexico.

1st love is ratchets. Used to collect antique ratchets, now I just buy to re-sell and trade.

Also like staplers (I probably have 20 or so) quality tape measures (I can't pass them up for $1 at the flea market, and quick-grip clamps (I find them handy and again, I find them pretty cheaply at the flea market).

Stuff that's kinda oddball, but still works well, really turns me on. I like being able to pull something out of my box at work, and have guys go :headscrat

My Plomb flare-wrenches are great. They are odd enough that most of the guys have never seen them before. Also, Plomb probably never sold in Canada, so they go in for a closer look and get even more confused when they see the logo.

Tools for me, Metalworking, Auto stuff, Woodworking and Electronics tools. Good quality and precision tools is on top of me list. Picked up a Metal lathe (Myford) for peanuts, same with a brand new Tektronics LCD oscope for almost nothing compared to the few $K new :)
Ratchets, screwdrivers and anything to do with measuring anything :D

Pearhead ratchets, but the stuff I want is never in the bottom of a bucket of sockets. The stuff I like is in a glass display case with a high price tag

I saw one on the shelf at lowes a few days ago and it said Mexico. This was a display model, didn't look at the ones below it in a box. I was quite distracted by a Skil 77 (not the magnesium one, just the plain 'ol heavy one) that still said Assembled in USA. It was the display model. May go back and get it...

As for tool weakness, i have serious problems with prewar stanley hand planes and quality vintage chisels. If anybody has any they want to move, well, you know... Send me a PM or something, but don't tell any of my support group members. :lol_hitti:beer:

Machining tools, ratchets, and extensions-you can never have enough because everybody's are a bit different in length.

I am a Diehard fan of Proto and Vulcan tools. They have never broke on me. I usually look for older Craftsmans though.
I have a Craftsman 1/2" & 7/16 combo box from the 50's that has not broke, my other one did, the Sears guys let me keep my old ones and personally sent me new ones.
I wish Proto was still in business, as well as Armstrong.
Armaloy is king!!!

Ratchets, sockets, socket sets, combo wrenches in that order. Mostly the New Britain brand and its subsidiaries.

It seems to change, but right now i am on a bit of a pb swiss addiction, after the brown truck leaves my house tomorrow i hope i am done with that.
I as well started to buy the cman pro sets due to the fact i feel they will be going away some time soon and wanted to complete my collection with them.
I have been slowly moving into proto and armstrong, all in all, this website is doing nothing for my petty cash situation. Dam you, garagejournal.

European tool sets in little black metal boxes. There appears to be a standard size for these and I'm afraid that I've got so many now that it has morphed into a collection.

Luckily, the smokin' eBay deals on these kinds of sets are essentially over. The days of paying $25+shipping for a Felo / Apex / Wera / Wurth / Stahlwille set are long gone.
