I find myself needing multiple multimeters pretty often. Measuring multiple voltages or multiple points in a circuit simultaneously, etc. Or one set up to measure current draw while another is measuring voltage, etc.

We run into the need for duplicate open ends pretty often. Hard to get a box end on a fitting in the middle of a tubing run..... There are times it even takes three of them...One on each nut plus one on the union fitting.

Those who wrench British motorcycles do need three when working on the fuel line with an Enots valve which is in itself a screwed together item. Just be careful where to place the 3rd jaw.

This is one I forgot about. I do this pretty often. I had two Amp clamps on a couple power contactors monitoring transitioning of a two speed motor a couple days ago. I keep a multimeter with an add on clamp and another separate clamp meter on hand just for these occasions.

I have two garage workshops about 150 feet apart and after multiple years I have duplicates of the majority ..... just so I don't have to walk back and forth.

What are you using multiple vice grips simultaneously for? My best guess is bolt and nut stuck fasteners you don’t mind damaging so you clamp both down.

Man, so many different uses over the years, no way to remember them all.
Ive doubled them up when one would slip.
Holding one object while turning another.
Using two as a T-handle to pull stakes.
Fabrication.
Upholstery work.

This thread got me thinking why is it that pliers (and scissors, etc) are called a pair? Is each arm its own plier therefore you need a pair for them to work? So what if I needed two pairs of pliers for a particular project? Would that be a pair of pairs? Or perhaps a couple of pairs? I wonder...

Clamps have been repeatedly brought up… and, honestly, it can’t be reiterated too much. When you need one clamp, you usually need a lot of clamps.

They are the perfect thing to look for at estate/garage sales. Get picky and cheap fast… and you will still find a lot of them. There are so many designs and sizes of clamps.

I have about 500 C clamps from 1" up to 18" in size, and I still run out on some projects. Bar clamps, I have about 40, run out all the time. Have to use pipe clamps for longer lengths or when I'm desperate because I'm out of bar clamps. Have maybe a dozen of them; they're harder to store.

Snap on long handle flex head 3/8 drive ratchets. FL80’s I believe.

I have four of them. Three in the tool box at work and one for home use. They fit my hand wonderfully. Saves some time not having to swap extensions and sockets. Mostly just like having one when I need it.
