Found a Streamlight Stinger rechargeable light wedged on top of the rear gas tank of a 2008 E-350 mobility bus. Interestingly enough, the date on the flashlight was a month before the manufacture of the bus and it looked like it had been there a very long time.

Did have a neighbor once two doors down in the apartment complex I live in leave a Craftsman large roll cab with tools in it. Him and his wife moved out in the middle of the night. (Behind on rent and owed others). It was full of Snap On and Cornwell tools.

The people lived like slobs. The apartment maintanace folks took the cab and tools as a bonus for having to spend extra days in getting the apartment ready to rent again.

What did I get out of the deal you wonder????? I got the nice leather couch they left behind.

Not to worry friend, I don't make it to Pinckney too often, My buddy Chris lives there. Now that's the guy are competing with. He has eyes like a hawk.

I found a very old and VERY rusty rake end while cutting down weeds the other day. I ended up cutting the ends off and putting the (now smaller rake) onto the remnant of a broom. Total length is about 24" and it works like a charm as a hand rake.

After having had my car worked on, I found a nice pair of duckbill pliers (Made in USA) in my car that were not mine...I went back to the mechanic that worked on my car to ask if they were his...he said "nope" they weren't his...so I kept them and collected good Karma in the process.

I felt I could not keep them unless I went out of my way to ask the guy. My dad made his livelihood with tools and I had to ask the mechanic or I couldn't live with myself.

Glad it worked out.

The last one was a Snap-on 3/8" drive flex head with bent up handle. It was in the middle of the road with a bunch of other tools. I picked up about $200 worth of tools. That was last September.

A couple of weeks back after dropping off my wife at a friend's house I found a made in the USA 12" Ridgid pipe wrench, jaws are still sharp. And day before yesterday while cleaning up parking lot at work I found a 1/4" drive Snappy 7/16 deep socket - old script. 1982 date code.

There are some great finds here. Only thing I ever found in the road was a nearly brand new Craftsman screwdriver.

12mm short 3/8ths SO socket chrome, on a 12mm head bolt on the shifter pivot base on a 1985 Corolla GTS. It was just sitting there as if it came off the previous mechanic's extension.

From on of my dad's properties he found an orange long handle SO ball peen hammer. I had to take the rust off it with skate board grip tape

Many years ago I would walk along SR7 in Hollywood Florida as I only lived about a mile from where I worked. I found a 3/8" Craftsman combination wrench with initials on it on the side of the road. A couple of days later a little farther up the road I found a 7/16" wrench with the same initials.

Proto 3 leg puller. Someone had damaged the forcing screw and tossed it.

Bought a new screw, and good to go.

Bought a used motorcycle and when I lifted the seat off one time, there was a Snap On F730 3/8" ratchet stuck between the harness and frame.

Also found a Stanley screwdriver stuck through a dead turtle at a farm pond I went fishing at one time.

Saw something laying there when I went by on the bike,
thought for sure it was HF pliers with the orange grips

This was a nice surprise, that only cost me a U-turn at the next driveway

Last year, everyday while riding my motorcycle to work, I would have to ride around a combination wrench that was right in the middle of the lane where I wanted to be. After the 3rd day, I stopped to pick it up. Chrome Snap-On 10mm that somehow had no road-rash on it.

Found a beat up and non working IR Titanium impact gun, a bunch of various sockets, a Haligan tool, pick head fire axe. Under hoods I've found 3 or 4 10 and 8mm sockets, I think all but one were snap on, the odd ball was a Mac, looked brand new too. A few other odds and ends, mostly broken or junk. The best thing I ever found was a Browning Hi-Power 9mm with a full magazine. After 90 days at the state PD and no trace or owner I had an early birthday gift. But I had to donate 50.00 to the state police for the NCIC check and FFL transfer lol

Found various small 1/4 drive sockets and screwdriver bits in an auto part store parking lot.

Family member found craftsmen sidecutter pliers in the same place.

Also discovered an old Hinsdale 'double d' socket, which I believe is 9/32 drive(?)

Got stuck in about 10 miles of bumper to bumper crawl on a high speed freeway a couple weeks ago so I passed the time looking at the debris on the shoulder as I inched by. Saw several phone cases, no phones, but did spot three different sockets in three different places, however they looked like small 3/8" drive and I was moving at the time, so I didn't stop. Lots of shoes, lawn chair debris, a few life jackets (I think they fly out of trailered boats), collision debris, and lots of general trash. It did help pass the time!

Found a Craftsman 10" locking 3/8 extension a few weeks ago, now in my box, couple years ago I found a Proto 3/8" torque wrench with a blowmold case, sold on eBay for about $50 as I have my own Snappys. Trailer hitch ball (hate to run over that!) was another find.

Dropped a crow's foot wrench into my '74 Jaguar XJ12L engine bay about 25 years ago, never did find it... Car is probably razor blades at this point, looooong gone.

Dunno if this tops it. Last thing I found at the junkyard was a Dewalt 18v impact. It was pretty used, under the battery it had a name that looked like a local fire suppression company. I hung around for 5-10 before I put it in my bag. It was on the counter as I checked out and no one said anything. Thought about calling the company, but it was pretty used and I figure the guy already said it got stolen off a jobsite.

Sounds like you stole and not found it.

Around 5 years ago we had someone from the cable company come to install a cable box and whatever else, he just so happened to leave a snap-on number 2 philips screwdriver. My dad called the guy back when he found it a few days later and he told my dad to keep it cause he already replaced it. That screwdriver is now my dads only snap-on tool and its his favorite philips!

I once found a Stanley screwdriver. No big deal, right ? Well .....

I was working a job packing up an exhibit that was going on the road for 2 years. The exhibit was shown in 8 different cities, including all the way out to Honolulu.

About 24 Months later the exhibit came back. As we were unpacking it to put it in storage, we heard something rattling in one of the wall panels. When I opened it up to find out what the noise was, I found the screwdriver. The original owner had painted his mark on it. It was mine !! I had lost it 2 years before, I thought that it had been stolen and had forgotten about it. To this day, it's still my most traveled tool !

My dad found a 10" SO 3/8 extention lying on the street and gave it to me. Years ago while in the car with my mom, as she was stopping at a stoplight we heard a clank as we came to a stop. I opened the door and she had ran over a brand new (at the time 1992) snap on long full polish 5/8" combo wrench. Still use it frequently to this day. I bought an 85 Mustang GT and while disassembling the interior, I found an old Craftsman 1/4" universal socket. Found a very old Craftsman slip joint pliers and 5/8" combo wrench in the bilge of an old boat that was traded in where I worked.

I found a dewalt cordless drill kit (14.4v xrp series) in thr middle of a road on the way to work. Also at different times, east wing claw hammer, no name ball pien hammer, an electric screw driver. Several ratchet straps, a pocket knife, two wallets with no money in them.

I have found a few over the years. 18" Ridged aluminum pipe wrench, SO pry bar 15", 1 brand new 15" Crescent wrench, A whole bunch of C-man sockets and a busted up tool tray, a 3 d cell Maglite. When I was driving truck interstate moving furniture I layed down a crescent wrench, screwdriver and a pair of pliers on the lip over the tail lights in San Antonio Tx. 2 days later I found them still there in Traverse City Mi.

I find lots of stuff digging for new commercial buildings, my latest find was this 1 3/4" spud wrench it was rusty and grimy before I wire brushed it and rattle can sprayed it. here it is compared to my standard 1 1/8" spud

I found a Milwaukee 1/2" corded drill in the middle of the road in the hood as I was going home a few months ago.The cord was wrapped tightly around the drill.Works awesome.

I've found a hand full of screwdrivers under the hoods of cars. Once a flash light on the cowl. Some vise grips on the tie rod of a explorer. Heavy duty matco pick also under the hood of a car. Some pen style magnets. Roto head snap-on ratchet. matco christmas tree puller/ remover. The list goes on and on. I've gotten pretty lucky

I do feel bad for the suckers that have lost / forgot them

I found an old snap-on screwdriver and some old USA made wooden handled screwdrivers in the wall in my garage a few months ago... Also a very old pipe wrench. Looked like someone forgot to move their tools when the drywall went up.

Years ago a new owner bought the house next to me in SF from a Chinese couple who had lived there for years. When he was renovating the kitchen he discovered that they had simply sheet rocked over the existing kitchen cabinets - including pots, pans, dishes and utensils!

I guess the kitchen got smaller and smaller every time they remodeled...

I recently found a pair of channel lock pliers and a very nice Craftsman crescent wrench while walking around my neighborhood. It was during winter and they were both partially in the snow (different locations but same day). Both were VERY rusty and I dipped them in distilled white vinegar for the night and they came out perfect. I didn't take pics of the crescent wrench unfortunately but you get the idea. They both came out pretty nice.
