This is curious. Their prices are very low but no hits when I search their name on this board and no one has anything to say about them. Maybe there prices are too good to be true? Has anyone ordered from them?

I've never bought from them or seen their website until a few minutes ago.
I doubt if I would ever buy from them based solely on the wording of the items description. Every item started with "Brand New". Reminds me of eBays sellers putting L@@K in the titles. Those are what I don't look at.

toolsforless? I have yet to see where that claim is true. All their prices are higher than a giraffe's ****.

I bought my 14.4v bosch drill with 3 batteries and charger from lowes for $150. THey want $90 for one with no batteries or charger.

bosch ps40, they want $180. I got mine for $110.

bosch ps20, they want $120, I got mine for $85.

Milwaukee grinder, they want $104, I picked it up at sears for $45.

Dewalt grinder, they want $130, I picked it up at fleet farm for $89.

The irwin 11r clamps they're selling (global) for $17, wrenchr just sold them (us) for $8 (used).

THey're selling a 1/2hp Delta bench grinder for $76, I got my 1hp Delta grinder for $100.

Miller Elite helmets for $279, I got mine for $150 at TSC.

Milwaukee screwgun like posted in the tooladay thread, they're asking $130 for, it's $50 there.

Nissan Crawler, Thanks for the detailed reply. I'm actually looking at Dremel kit 1130-01, $135.99 at Amazon, $89.99 at toolsfor less and Dewalt DW 756 bench grinder, $92.25 at Amazon and $79.88 at toolsforless. Free shipping over $125. That's a heap of a difference.

The thing I find as a possible red flag is that they have no phone number. I emailed them asking to place the order over the phone and they emailed back saying that they couldn't do it and gave no phone number. If you google them it appears that they are part of a big brick and mortor company. When I called that company they didn't have a number for toolsforless.

On every purchase I've made on ebay I've been able to talk to the seller. I don't think I should buy from an outfit I can't talk to. What do you think?

Their "whois" says they've been around nline for about 11 years now. 11 years, and they're still privately registered? (whois)

Alexa.com has a phone # for them, here, but it might not be trustworthy.

The BBB has info about them, and thier B&M storefront.

If I even question a retailer's business practices, I pass.

I won't order from stores with so little contact info, UNLESS they have a strong forum/cult following.

Im thinking there could be something shady going on, but there might not be. there could be some reason they dont have a phone but they should have told you why in the email. the only reasons I can think of they wouldnt have a phone would be like they are deaf or mute or have fins for hands and cant hold a phone or something else like that. Maybe they dont speak english? or they are not US citizens so they cant get a phone in their name? or maybe they just take your cash and run. Make sure you pay with a CC so you can get your money back.

Stuey, As always, your help is much appreciated. I called a couple of the Welding place numbers. They could not give me a number for toolsforless. It looks legit according to the BBB info on their website but hell, if you can't talk to someone before you send the money who do you ***** to when you don't get the order or there is some other problem? Where's the value in saving a few bucks in this deal?

Another good resource is resellerratings.com, but in this case, they only have two reviews.

Another thing I try if I'm still hesitant and on the fence, I google "retailer name *****" or "retailer name rip off" and see what comes up.

ALSO, if you're open to trying new retailers, you could always sign up for a credit card number which offers "virtual account numbers."

A regular credit card offers great protection and you can always dispute an item, but if you're REALLY concerned that somebody's going to turn around and sell your CC #, but are adamant about placing the order, a virtual credit card # is for you. One of my Citi cards was eligible, and it was free, so I signed up for it. If/when I want to use the virtual number, I do through my credit card's online account, and then enter the number as I would my regular card.

There can be certain limits, such as one retailer per virtual number, a one month period a # will be "activated", and I believe you can set a dollar amount at times.

look here are the locations and numbers. http://advantagegasesandtools.com/

When I worked commercial construction we dealt with them heavily for diamond blades and our needs in ME. One job we were at the shop daily for three months get what we needed for that night work of demoing a 20x20 bank vault in the Maine mall. ( this was in the 90's when the tooling was more limited to do the job)
