As soon as they refused to accept the return, I would have taken a screen shot of their store return policy and submitted a claim with the credit card company explaining that the item was deffective and they weren't accepting returns despite the situation meeting the published return policy. Then write an email to tooltopia which I'd also print and mail via certified mail USPS explaining the situation and that you filled a credit card dispute. In the email I would go on to say that I now considered the jack as abandonded poperty since I didn't want a deffective item and that they were refusing to take it back. I'd advise them that they had 90 days to either come pick it up or to send $40.00 for me to ship it back to them since they had already refused my attempt to return it. I'd advise them that the end of the 90 days, they would lose all legal rights to claim the item and that I would then dispose of it at my discretion.

You tried to play by their rules and they refused so now you make the rules. The credit card company will side with you...which is why you always pay with a credit card & not a debit card.

The terms and conditions of that store credit were bull poo by the way.

No tooltopia for me...and between my cars, the service work I do and my family farm it's never less than $1000 in tools a year.

I made a tooltopia order at 8:03 AM yesterday, when I got home from work today it was sitting on my porch, all four items. I've never had a problem with them, always received my order in a couple of days, max. However, I've never had to make any returns.

Tooltopia return policy = FAIL

I have purchased sockets from them before. Good prices and fast shipping. However, I returned a pair of Lisle 3/16" brake line pliers to them 4 weeks ago, and still no refund! Their customer service people where more than happy to give me the run around via email, but I have never had a distributor take this long to issue a credit. Oh well, I guess I'll dispute it with the CC.

I say put Steven Biars on the case and Tooltopia will be calling you and begging for forgiveness and to get him off the case

I have bought from Tooltopia before, no problem. But I did not need to return the product.

I will think twice about buying from them again. The measure of a merchant is NOT how he collects your money. It is how the merchant REFUNDS money when the customer is not happy.

Tooltopia has OBVIOUSLY played the "make it difficult return policy" on the OP. Credit only, no actual refund, must use credit all at once, in a limited time frame. What BS!

I have only placed on order with Tooltopia and probably will not in the future.

my order was missing two items. One item was a bit socket and the other was a 3/32" starter punch out of a set.

Tooltopia sent out another bit socket no questions asked but they wanted me to return the whole punch set to get another set. Was not worth my time, gas and postage to return the punch set so I locally purchased the missing punch.

Not particularly impressed with them overall.
