toptul facom?

looking at the wrench sets from toptul and facom and the super torque for both brands look the same but toptul is cheaper are they any good?

I belive toptul is made in taiwan and facom is made in france. Toptul has a pretty high rating here.

Probably both from the same factory as the majority of Facom tools are made in China or Taiwan. Nowadays hardly any tool is made in France.

My understanding is the Facom 440 wrenches are made in Taiwan by Rotar, the same company that manufactures the Toptul wrenches. The toptul and Facom wrenches are not exactly the same design. The wrenches may share the same design features on the open and box ends.

There are still a number of Facom tools made in France. The screwdrivers and pliers are mostly if not all made in France. Some of the wrenches are still made in France. There's a list on garage Journal of the COO of a number of items. Other items including some of the wrenches are also manufactured in Italy.

I would buy nothing from Toptul, service is not existent, if you need a replacement or to fill in a set, good luck. Ask me how I know. I jumped on the bandwagon here years ago, it didn't work out so good.

Mind you, they're about the same - rather short - length as the Facom 440.

There's a few decent sellers around now for Toptul in the UK, of course that's no guarantee for the future.

Yes, in their Super-Torque and Hi-Performance, midget, extra long and old style standard pattern.

The AAEW spanners are over 2 times the ANSI or DIN standard, facom
are only 1.6 DIN standard

The AAEX thin profile 1.6

All the spanners are as good or higher quality than Facom

I have a set of Facom spanners but i got them first, befour i new about
Toptul, they are v/good spanners no problems.

If i got new now i would get Toptul, lower price, top quality.

just gave vantage tools a message to ask about there super torque spanners and they are getting them in imperial sizes in February

So deciding to try and buy some Toptul AAEX wrenches...hard part if finding a source.

No distributor in Canada anymore, and the Wren tool doesn't list the AAEX sets or singles.

I am looking for the 12pcs set and 17mm and 19mm singles. The extra 17mm and 19mm are for my small lathe and mill. Plane is to have a dedicated set of the needed tools to adjust either right there at the mill / lathe.

Toptul wrenches are real nice for the money, tool truck quality from one of best oems in taiwan and toptul is rotars own brand.
warranty support not great but for prices you can get them for I don't care as happy to self warranty .

Toptul are very good quality for the money,

I would recommend you pick up a set of their extra long combo spanners.

It goes from 10-19 with no skips, and can be had for less than £80 delivered. You wont get better for less.

I think you be lucky get better wrenches for 3x the cost
screwdrivers, grip pliers and sockets nice too, ratchets not that special but roto heads nice for price .

I think I am going to go down this route vs the Toptul as the Toptul just seem harder for me to purchase with no distribution in Canada or the US.

From what I've seen there are still a lot of Facom tools made in France. I may have just been lucky with my purchases. I don't think any of their main tools are made in China though I could be wrong. Which tools are you saying are made in China?

As far as i know, only the screw drivers are made in france? the rest seems to be Very high quality Taiwan.

I think these are still mostly made in France.
Pliers, Punches, Screwdrivers, hammers, Hex and torx keys, tweezers, files, locking pliers, 1/4 locking extensions.

The Facom 440 wrenches and their Usag brothers were originally manufactured in Taiwan when they first came out.
Later, Facom switched the production to France for some reason. I don’t know whether the current 440s are still manufactured in France, or whether the production was shifted back to Taiwan, or whether it has moved elsewhere at this point.

As far as Rotar being the manufacturer.
Someone way back when on GJ posted a photo from Taiwan from one of the manufacturers.
According to them, Rotar wasn’t actually a hand tool manufacturer themselves.
They were originally a manufacturer of vibratory finishing equipment, who also offered finishing services to other Taiwanese manufacturers.
I guess since they had the finishing technique knowledge, and new all the manufacturers, they decided to come out with their own tool brand.

As far as the Facom wrenches, the Person on GJ journal who posted about them, posted a photo from a different manufacturer of an actual 440 wrench blank.

I love that this forum is just a wealth of information.

Pulling the trigger on the USAG wrenches and some circlip pliers. They'll partially match my Facom ratchets made by USAG.
