Was wondering is anyone could supply me with a photo os the internals of a TopTul Ratchet. Either the Roto head or pear head. Also would like to see a close up of a TopTul wrench

I didn't buy any ratchets, but I do have some other pics HERE.

The wrenches are the extra long ones, but are fully polished- not the satin finish that so many people seem to like. You can see the satin finish on the sockets and extensions.

It's been 23 hours and 39 minutes since I got the automated email they got message. I can't beleive nobody has called yet, I would hope to hear back within a week. If I can get cracking for about 30K with a really good inventory I'd sell my race car and go for it. I would want to see a few samples before I jump in. maybe the have a sample pack you can purchace to look them over and test. I'm really curious about the ratchet internals. I would hate to think the roto heads turned out to be a sliding single pawl elcheapo design. It would have to be better quality than Gearwrench before I sold it and serviced it. I wouldn't sell a tool I wouldn't use.

I don't have any pictures of the internals of the round-head type, but it is essentially a clone of the Facom and SK round head ratchets.

If you're really serious you could email [email protected] and ask him what was involved in becoming a Toptul dealer. His initial stock was about 500 items. After more than a year he's down to about 400. So I imagine if he had it to do over again, he'd have stocked only those 100 items. He doesn't seem to have restocked, so I'm not sure what his long-term plan is for the Toptul line.

I remember that he posted something about having to carry product liability insurance if you're the only importer. Surely the US and Taiwanese governments don't make it as easy as just paying for the tools and shipping them.

I may buy a stepvan and have a TopTul truck. My advantage is I already know what local techs pay their tool payments, lol

Not sure how long it would take to get everything in place but as soon as you do I will have a list for you. Was looking threw the toptul catalog on this site and found a bunch of things I wanted, I mean need! Just wasn't real confident ordering them with the limited dealers and with a bunch of members saying they couldn't get ahold of the dealer or it took weeks for the dealer to get back to them and the dealer not having stock. Needed a little more stability for me.

Need some impacts, locking extensions, swival sockets and a bunch of other things. I was just looking at mike's site and half the links to prices don't do anything and the other half gets errors. If you do go threw with this please set up a good website that I can just click and order, not one that you have to look at a catalog and then click to see the price and then.... I want to be able to see the description and price on the same page and then just hit a button to add to my cart. Maybe I'm asking for a lot?

The first thing I have to do is place a small order and see what it is I'm selling. I could never sell something I don't beleive in. I don't think that would be a problem from what I've seen so far. Getting the website set up would be the tough part for me. I have to make sure the profit margin is high enough to justify the investment.

I got an email from Steve at Ultimate Garage last week. He is expecting his new order of Toptul stuff to come in in about 80-90 days.

Picked up a very nice metric mixed size socket set in satin finish from him for $36. I'll be ordering some deep sockets when he gets his new shipment.

I just checked out the ultimate garage site and looks to be very limited stock. Doesn't even have deep 1/2" impact sockets that I could find?

I have several TopTul items and they are of decent quality. But the stuff is still regular Taiwan stuff. Only difference is a pimped finish. No question it's worth the money but not exceptionel quality.

Air tools are overpriced IMO, you get real quality quality (i.e. CP) for the same money or even cheaper. So beware of them.

What's unique are the TopTul gearless ratchets. They become very handy in tight spots and they are rare to get in good quality at a decent price.

TopTul has quite some stuff which is - most likely - simply sourced from other suppliers to complete their portfolio. It's just re-labeled (brake pliers, chisels, etc.). I would not go after these items either.

Huh. My impression is that TopTul has better finishes than most Taiwan I've seen, and rivals state-side and Japanese tools (which is probably easy for them, since Taiwan is not shackled by the EPA). But maybe you are commenting on the tool quality underneath the chrome. I have no way to judge that.

Which CP: Central Pneumatic (HF) or Chicago Pneumatic?

Are you sure about TopTul outsourcing? Do you have evidence? Pretty large factory they have...

Apparently Zorro has a vastly different experience or interpretation of Toptul quality. I have several items and find them to be far superior to any generic Taiwan/China/insert cheap labor country here tools. I find them to be nicer than my Craftsman stuff by a good margin as well. In fit, finish and function.

I've since sold off almost all of my Toptul stuff. But I agree that it was far above CMAN stuff. All I held onto was my set of metric wrenches because A: you can never have to many wrenches and B: they're really quite nice.

I think they are great quality on a budget.

Only reason I sold everything was I closed my shop and didn't need multiple sets of tools anymore..... My main set of Tools is mostly SO, and that's what I kept.

holeshot, I'll put an order in. I absolutely love my Toptul stuff. Cheaper than Cman and they blow them away, quality-wise. (at least, ratchets, sockets, hex keys, screwdrivers and wrenches are. Can't speak for the other stuff.)

i forgot to add in my other post, the problem with the website was his service provider took his (and others) site offline because the shopping cart application has/had some vulnerabilities (the system in general, not his specifically).

Unless you live near the west coast where you can pick up your shipment at a port this will raise up your cost significantly.

I'd be curious what the challenges are (if any) with working with TopTul as a company.

I could see (finances aside) a TopTul van doing some good business in my area, provided the tools are really all that some have said they are.

I don't know - shipping is pretty cheap on dense weight like this. What's the NMFC for tools.

PS National Motor Freight Classification. You'd have to know how densely these things are packed on pallets or crates, and then see. But it might not be too bad.

That's the way, I think. I could imagine selling anything I didn't believe in. It's got to be hell going to work everyday to sell **** you don't believe in. Maybe if the money's good enough, people do it anyway...

I don't know about websites other than I'm having one built right now that I'm happy with. But there are packages out there, and I would consider if I didn't have what I thought were special requirements, checking out those because the costs are, from what I understand, fixed.

But hey, the more self-sufficient you are in all aspects of business, the better. That's how "they" get you -- when you don't know something and have to rely on someone else, it can be a huge money ****.
