We have been working on putting together a Torchmate X heavy duty plasma table for a while. We fabricated a water table with the ability to drop the water level. It's nice to finally get it cutting parts.

Years ago I purchased a 4x8 Torchmate before they became popular. I will say the Torchmate X product is very nice.

holy moly that is gigantic!

Yes, table is located at an industrial firm where I do consulting work. I have one slightly smaller at my shop... 5x18. The 5x18 is way big for what I need. I should sell it and buy one smaller.

motobilt, what are you using for liquid? I built a water table for my little 4x8 cnc plasma and use straight water but it requires draining often as it turns nasty and rancid. yours resembles antifreeze.
Thanks in advance.

Google "water table treatment". You should find a number of options. You can also source through your local welding supply company.

Wow. How tight is the tolerance over the 25'? I bet that took a while to get setup.

I have done only one calibration over the length of the table and have it within 1/16", but that is running tests with a tape measure. This table will more than likely see multiple individual plates being cut rather than really long cuts. However because it is installed in an industrial shop it will have some larger work on occasion.

Any reason why you chose TM over someone like Dynatorch?

I personally have owned Torchmate in the past. I presented it to the company I am doing some consulting work for along with Dynatorch and a few others. This is the direction they decided to go.
