Do any of you guys have a Tormach CNC machine ? I'm thinking about picking one up shortly.

Main uses will be to fab hobby parts, nice items like rear sets for motor cycles, snow mobile bling parts, etc. What ever I can think of and draw up in Alibre.

Wanted a smaller CNC machine which would not break the bank, yet fit in the garage along with all my other stuff in there.

I have several friends that have them and they are good machines for prototype/low volume parts. CNCZone.com and homeshopmachinist.net are good places to check the reviews and ask questions. What cam system are you going to get? They offer a good deal on sprutcam but it has a steep learning curve and not the best documentation but it is a VERY powerful program. For most parts take a look at VisualMill - I use it for 99% of the parts that I make and it is very solid and easy to learn.

Off topic but I was at a customer tonight with the biggest CNC mill I've ever seen. They mill the the dies for full length car sides.

For what you want to do, I think you could better spend your money buying one of the many late-model manual turret mills that are on Ebay and spend the remainder on measuring equipment.
