So I "inherited" one of these little gems from a friend (would never buy a gimmick like this). I started it up and did a few laps with it in the yard. It has this "slide type" mechanism built into the handle that you push your body weight into to make the drives wheels engage and it actually works. The more you push into it the faster the mower moves hence the personal pace gimmick.

The drive wheels do tend to slip and sound to be grinding at times. Is this normal operation for these, damaged gears or a need for adjustment?

Really just temped to yank the 6.5 horse engine and put in on another deck.

Regards, Chet

Very common thing. They use wheels with molded in gear teeth. The wheels are soft plastic and the mating gear is metal. New wheels are $15-25.
