EDIT: I thought I put this in the HVAC forum here, but apparently did not....
I recently picked up a free Master 165k BTU model B165DT heater that won't ignite. I've hit all the checklists I can think of from Youtube videos and general internet troubleshooting and still can't get it to pull fuel.
WHen I turn it on, the fan kicks on for a few seconds as the glo plug does its thing, but no fuel comes out of the nozzle. When I unhook the air hose from the nozzle it is blowing nice and steady, but if I unplug the fuel filter (see photo below) from the fuel tank and/or take the fuel filter off of the fuel line, I don't feel any suction into the hose at all. Even putting the fuel line with no filter into a clear bottle with new kerosene in it doesn't show any effort to pull the fuel at all. I've tried adjusting the pressure screw on the back with no change in results.
I have two questions here:
1) Generally, what are your thoughts on what to do next?
2) Look at the picture of the fuel filter below. This plugs into the top of the fuel tank, so the fuel level is a good 2-3" below the bottom of this filter. Shouldn't there be a hose or tube that extends down into the fuel itself? I've asked around and been told that what's shown there is all that there is, and that's all the replacement parts show too. If not, then how does the fuel actually get into the line (and does it need primed since it's now sitting dry inside the line?) With this in mind, like I said I did put the hose directly into liquid fuel and it still didn't try to pull it.

- Motor spins.
- All three air filters are new
- Impeller was broken on the air pump so I replaced it and it spins freely and the inserts move in and out as they're supposed to. Air gap adjusted.
- Photocell is clean and clear of cobwebs, etc.
- Fuel line and air line are brand new, and air line is blowing freely
- Fuel filter passes kerosene through with no hesitation
- Nozzle has been opened up, is as clean as the day it was new, and air passes freely
- Fuel is new
- Glo plug is working
- All bolts on the rear panel have teflon tape on them to try to eliminate ANY source of air leak.
