I live in Chicago and use a torpedo heater to warm up my garage when working in it. Will the torpedo heater have ANY effect on the RaceDeck tiles while sitting on top of them ?

It shouldn’t

The problem with torpedo heaters is they are very directional meaning right in front of the heater where it’s blowing it’s hotter than hell but the floor will be cold still

to be sure feel the tile about 5 feet in front of the heater while it’s running.

+1 on this... I used to use a torpedo heater and it made my extension cords and air hose hanging about 25ft in front / off to the side very warm and flexible.

it gets the RaceDeck really hot a few feet in front of the heater but I had no issues with it, it didn't melt them but I kept a close eye on the tiles checking the tiles often. I only had to run my heater about 2 weeks until my HotDawg was up and running, but no damage to the tiles.

The really hot tile will be about 3 ft. in front of the heater, almost scary hot but no damage and I ran the heater 2 or 3 hours a day.

It shouldn’t damage the floor but it will cause it to expand and hump up as that happened to me, now I just put the heater on the box I store it in so just raise it about a foot off the floor and you should be fine
