i have a "green machine" 100K BTU salamder heater that's gonna hafta make due "1 more winter" til I get my gas line plumbed to the garage to run my 100K BTU Modine unit heater --- I got the heater and it's "hung" from the joists so that's an improvement vs the last 6 winters...
Problem being with the salamander is that while I have had the thing ~10 years and got it used when I originally got it, every time it sits from Spring til the next winter, I gotta take the thing apart and play with it to get the blower motor to spin up without releasing "smoke" ya know, spin the fan with my fingers, (with it unplugged of course) drop some "3 in 1" on the shaft and then plug it in and "help" the fan get going...
this was an expensive commercial grade heater when new, I got it free when I originally got it but had to put a coil in it to get it working back when I got it... Worst case, where can I get a replacement motor fairly reasonably?? Being that I have my heater "hung" and just have to run the line, and I'll have "better" heat next season, I don't wanna pour much $ into this heater, the keorosene bill kills me bad enough as is, when it "does" run.
