Torque Stick vs Torque Limiting Extension

I am in the market to buy some form of "torque limiting extension" that is rated for 65 ft-lbs. The cars I work on usually call for 80 ft-lbs.

I noticed that the Accutorq branded ones only come in the form of a torque stick, with a specific size socket on the end. Other brands, such as Snap-On or Matco, sell torque limiting extensions that you can attach any 1/2" impact socket to.

What is the advantage of having a torque stick (where the socket is built into the extension) over a torque limiting extension?

Thanks.

The extension is more versatile, for fleet maintenance crews the dedicated stick could eliminate guesswork and extra tools

I just read in some Accutorq literature that there can be significant variances as a result of the different types of sockets at the end of the extension.
