Since this is a forum about tools, how would I go about getting a Snap-on torque wrench recalibrated. I haven't asked any one about it at this point. Any help? :headscrat

How old is it, and how often has it been used? Many torque wrenches can retain calibration for 20-30 thousand cycles. If i were you, Id compare it to a few other peoples torque wrenches, or see if a local shop has a torque meter, before you go and spend all that money.

To recalibrate a snap-on wrench, you are going to need to track down a dealer. I dont know how much they charge, but i can find out.

Most people that use their snappy ones have them recalibrated yearly, or somewhere around there.

First of all thanks for your replies. Secondly, I think the wrench has to be at least 30 or forty years old. My father had it and I inherited it. I know that he didn't use it much and I to have not used it much. Probably three or four times in twenty years. Having mostly Toyotas in my family I don't get to use my tools for auto repair all that much. I know that I can contact a Snap-on dealer thru a friend that has a garage. My dealings with him haven't been too good because like most others I think he overcharges.
The wrench is not a clicker type but has a dial that can be set at zero to go to the ft/lb or from the ft/lb to zero. I haven't had a chance to check it against the date chart that has been posted here but will do when I get a couple of minutes.
