I have a snap-on a craftsman and a few beam wrenches, as well as 5 HF ones that I keep in my vehicles. Here is the rub most all of my non HF ones cost 10X as much as the HF one but when tested they all register within 2% of each other. With the 9.95 cupon they are a deal...

Haha that's good to know, I have 1/4, 3/8 from HF. Super cheap with coupons. My 1/2 is a Kobalt when Loews clearanced all their good stock.

I have a 3/8" drive SK torque wrench and I have no complaints, I've had mixed results with CDI torque products though. My 3/8" drive one works correctly only 20% of the time, it fails to 'break' or 'click' when it hits the set torque and then keep letting you tighten it, I sent it back to get recalibrated and it still has the same problem. My 1/2" drive CDI works perfectly.

The best bang for the buck is HF. I bought a brand new CM 1/2 digital torque wrench. I also bought a slightly used 3/8 SO and used 1/2 SO. I just recently bought a 3/8 HF for $10 on sale. I test the two SO and HF against the digital CM. I couple the other torque wrench with the CM. When it click, I check the digital reading. The 3/8 SO is consistantly about 4 ft-lbf below the CM. The 1/2 SO is consistantly about 10 ft-lbf below the CM. The 3/8 HF is consistantly 2 ft-lbf below the CM. If you are a light user, I would suggest the HF. If you are a heavy user, I would invest in something like Precision Instrument, CDI, SO, etc. I would avoid the CM microtork. The plastic is so brittle and crack easily.

Depends on the intended use. I have the three sizes of HF, dandy for most stuff, wheel lugs, etc. but I will be borrowing a Techangle when I put a motor together. Can't say that I care a lot for anything in the middle.
