Torque wrenches

I'm wondering if you guy have any experence with matco torque wrenches. I'm thinking aboout buying the 3/8 flex head that was in their flier. Just didn't wanna shell it out if it wasn't worth it.

it's the same one that Mac and Gearwrench offer correct?

No its a little diffirent then gearwrrench and a lot diffirent then macs. Does gearwrench make a good torque wench?

I have a 1/2" flexhead I bought 10 or 12 years ago. The head did crack right in two torquing a bolt to 210 ft lbs. That happen with in the first year and half. Sent it in, paid like $80 to have it calibrated and it has worked fine since then. Overall I would say the head cracking was a fluke and give them a :thumbup:

I like them well enough, as good as anything else. I think the fixed-head Matco is the same as the Gearwrench version, though I could be mistaken there.

Nopee if I went digital id go for snap ons. A guy at work has the 3/8 and the 1/2. Seriously great wrenches. Thatnks for the replies guys

I have one. it broke the third time I used it. and it was only set to 55ft-lb. sent it back, it was gone for a month and a half. been working since, but kinda disappointed in it

Yeah I have both 3/8 & 1/2 Snap On TechAngles, I love them, best torque wrenches to date.

I have a gearwrench torque wrench. I've used it just a few times torquing cylinder heads. I'm satisfied

It's also made in the USA which should appease the COO Nazis

It sounds like you've made some nice upgrades on your tools since the HF thread... I'd love to get me some tech angles

Yeah, A lot of HF stuff has been replaced. You should check the HF Investment thread, and the new tool arrivals thread; it's all in there.
