Alright. So Im a bit confused here.

As I understand it. With a single spring system if the torsion spring is right of center its supposed to be a left wound spring. Well. The torsion spring broke yesterday and after pulling it down to get the info I need to get a new one I realized it is right wound. Did the previous owner just install it wrong or is there a specific setup that requires right wound on the right side?

Yes there are. Most important concept is that the spring gets wound so it gets smaller in diameter and longer in length. The installer may have put the drums and spring on backwards and changed the designed direction of the cable pull instead of fixing the mistake. Low headroom front torsion is the usual place the spring is on the opposite side. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answers. Did some digging on my own. Then got busy with work and forgot to check back on this thread till now. It is cause of low headspace.
