Anyone know on what a Torx 27 driver is used on? It seems all the European manufacturers make them.

Damn near everything a T15 or T20 isn't. Tons of heavy equipment applications for panel screws and the like. I've used it a fair amount for automotive use as well, though I can't recall specific applications off the top of my head.

I know they are used on GM Transmissions, on the pump I believe? I'm not a trans specialist, but my father is a Trans mechanic (30 years) and I know he's got several different offerings of T-27's whether it be 3/8 drive socket with bit insert, screwdrivers with T-27 or Apex insert bits for bit screwdrivers.

Echo and Stihl outdoor power equipment. Maybe others.

YES, Craftsman also along with just about any other outdoor power equipment now that you mention it...I work on small engines and see that fastener size daily. They use a lot of Torx bolts on chainsaws now.

All the fasteners on the engine of my FS130R Stihl are T27, can get by with a T25 if your careful.

I learned my lesson a long time ago about using the right size torx driver, especially when they are close in size like T25, T27, and T30. Way to easy to round off those torx if you use the wrong size. I always check the size and then try the next size just to make sure.

Oh I agree, and I knew I was taking a shot at it with a T25. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I got a T27 for reassembly.

Almost all of the fasteners that hold upper and lower fairings on bmw motorcycles are T25 and T27. LOTS of them all over the bike.

Harleys. Its very common on them. Some times you have to search out a set that has them.
