They will serve you fine. I have both metric and standard hex set along with the torx set. Bought the individual bigger sizes to fully cover the torx. Shouldn't really need any bigger hex sockets then what the two sets cover. DIY or daily use. I see no problem in them.
But I'm sure someone on here will say why you shouldn't buy them or what you should buy. In the end buy what fits the budget and makes you happy. I'm very satisfied with mine. My most used on is the 3/8 hex for GM caliber. Great fit and good quality. For $15/set of hex for 7-8 pieces (I forget how many) can't go wrong.
Hard to say when we don't know what they are. I've broken many an error page, though, they're ****!
I recommend getting at least the smaller Torx sizes in security, like up to T45 or so. I got a GW set, not as cheap I'm sure, but it works. I've got a cheap set of Kobalt SAE hex sockets that I like well enough for $10, too.
Don't forget the 7mm hex for Euro calipers!
