There's really very little you can't get with some form of hex or 12 point, but if you want to be fully prepared, the VIM are really very nice.

And am very happy. In my experience, the tamper proof torx are rare, but torx plus and external torx plus will come up if you work on enough stuff, even GM. Five points, I personally haven't seen any but that VIM 77 piece has them so you'd be covered.
$170 is a big bite for "just in case", but honestly I'd get just the individual sets of Torx and E-Torx over that 34 piece set.

Edit: after taking a quick look, VIM's individual sets wouldn't necessarily cover the same range, so that might be a good choice. Still, the 77 piece is where I decided to go after having coming across fasteners for which I didn't have the exact right tool too many times. I'm still not fully covered, but closer.

The big question is: do the bits wiggle in the socket? Back when I bought mine, both Craftsman and Proto used roll pins to hold the bits in and they all wiggled. Out of aggravation, I bought Snap-on.

What I'm getting at is that I spent more than that getting torx variations in a pinch, where I would have been covered with that set had I bought it in the first place. My two cents, and of course very different needs as I have a lot of different vehicles come through.
That said, pulling seats out of GM vehicles is where I've actually most frequently come across something I didn't have.
My real point though, was that the VIM bit sockets are very, very nice.

I've seen security torx on Ford MAF sensors, and in some home repair for appliances.

I have VIM torx and hex sets, they're really good quality, very good for handling warranty issues, I'd definitely buy from them again.

I have the OTC master set and a Mac set made by Vim. Both are very very solid sets. You are not going to go wrong with either. I like the OTC set better simply for variety.

VIM set MMS64 is a good set also, it can be found at Amazon for $124 and is really good quality and well worth the price.

Have a Snap On master set, but also have individual Vim sets. They've performed great and have zero complaints or failures. When I need another set, for road boxes, service carts or whatever Vim would be my first choice
