So I have a 4mm allen head screw.
The allen key seemed a bit round at the corner and didn't turn the screw very well.
I put in a T25 torx and it turns much better.

What's GJ opinion on using torx on allen head ?

Well I would first replace my allen bit since it appears rounded off. If that doesn't work I would guess the allen screw is chewed up and if a T-25 works, fine. I would then replace the screw after removing it.

When you don't have the right topology or the fastener is damaged do whatever you need to get the job done. Ideally you replace the fastener or veg the correct took for the next time.

Also, If your Allen key is rounded off, you can slowly grind it down to get to a new cross-section. Grind slowly to keep from annealing the key. Don't put a lot of heat into it.

I've ran across similar situations where someone has used an Allen key on torx bolts and the result is anybody's guess. Whatever gets it out is the best tool for the job. Pitch the bolt and get a new one.

If neither bit works and you are dealing with smaller screws, the Alden Grabit screw extractors only need a little depression to grab and the back of an allen or torx or even a phillips is usually enough or you can drill it a little deeper with the other side of the tool. The hole is nothing like what is needed by most extractors. I have seen similar tools under brand names like Master Mechanic and Speedout but have not tried them but they look identical.
