I've had no issues with my craftsman ones. Maybe Williams?

I got the small snap on set. I find this set covers most of the little trim stuff and they do the job just fine. For the heavier stuff I use torq sockets. I might get the larger snap on set some day, but these little guys are fine for now. Typically if I have to go bigger no screwdriver type will work anyways.

Anyone try the gear wrench torx screw drivers? I've been thinking about picking some up from advance using the discount codes.

SnapOn would be the ultimate choice.

If you are looking for something with good quality, USA made, and more affordable: The Masterforce set at Menards is a good buy... I am happy with mine.

I've got Craftsman Pro's I am pretty happy with, but they don't have the smaller sizes. I'd recommend them without hesitation.

I've also got some Masterforce and some HF too. The Masterforce are likely your best bet if you want a full set. I have the OLD HF set, back when they were made in Taiwan. Look similar to what's made today, but they are different.

I bought a set on eBay made by Pratt Read for next to nothing. They recently went to a new design so you can find their old style torx and nut drivers really cheap.

I've looked at a bunch of used sets
Many seem to have the tips worn out & twisted
No matter which brand

I purchased the Gearwrench torx screwdrivers (long shank) because I needed to get deep inside a car door to release the outside handle. They worked fine, and the "feel" of the handle is comfortable. Bill

I believe this is the new Pratt Read design on the left.I like the older design on the right better. From what I've read Pratt Read supplies or has supplied their drivers to several of the major tool companies to be rebranded.Plus they're made in the US,so I'm pretty happy with mine.

I bought a set of Bondhus Ballstar Torx screwdrivers but I don't like the handles. Personal preference I suppose but I find the bigger sizes a bit big for my smaller hands.

So far I'm looking at the 5pc snap on set with a mini set
Or the 8 PC wiha set
I have the SK longer set now but I have a need for a shorter set
Must have a T27 and not tamper proof

My absolut favorite! Bahco Be(belzer) torx screwdrivers! They are so damn comfortable and premium quality! I get this set with 5 screwdrivers for 25-30 euro on sale! I adore the handle and choose this over my stahlwille:) ...easy!

Zoro Tools does an 8 or 9 piece set for about $70.00...

Worth it, they are...

I would recommend Wiha. I pound them into rounded out allens and twist the snot out of them. Never broken one yet. Have no idea where I could warranty them off the top of my head, but I haven't needed to either.

IMO They seem much harder than Craftsman or Snap on, my other comparison sets. I would rate the hardness up there with Snap On heavy duty removal bits (the gold ones).

I've got this set:

They've held up remarkably well.

I also have the Wera Chiseldriver Torx set in my tool bag. Those things are indestructible.

Just a DIYer here.

If you're going for the anti tamper variety then get the high end stuff, especially in the smaller sizes the centre hole reduces the strength a lot.

For some reason I don't encounter torx fasteners too often, but I did last summer when I had to do a little work on my weed wacker. The whole thing was put together with torx screws. I went to my local Home Depot and found a five piece set of USA made Husky branded torx drivers for about $10. They're good for the few times that I'll probably ever use them and worked fine for the project that I bought them for. I think they were made by Western Forge.

I've had a Wiha soft finish set since 97ish, changed thousands of tool inserts when I was a machinist and still serving me well in machine maintenance although not used much now.
