Who makes the best Torx screwdrivers? I have the same set that I bought when I was in Tech school... 10 years ago. They are the standard cman and have served me fairly well. I admit that I really like the fact that I exchange a broken driver over a lunch break. I have Snappy instinct soft grip, and while am not super crazy about them, I like how they fit my big meat hooks. I have looked into the ones that Mac sells but I am concerned about the handles. Any other options would be greatly appriciated. If you have either the Snappy or Mac ones, I would also love to hear how they are holding up. Thanks in advance.

IMHO the best ones I have ever used are some that I recently acquired. They're Wiha and I saw them on this board originally. Being a sucker for red and hearing good things about Wiha, I figured I'd try them out. I was not disappointed.

I have the C-man pro ones and they're great, but these Wiha have a hard handle, which I greatly prefer in most situations and seem to be of better quality (not to knock the C-man ones, they're already very good). A few more sizes available in the Wiha set too, another reason I decided to try them. Wanted to fill some gaps and thought I'd pick up the set rather than trying to track down one at a time.

I got the 8 piece set, #36292, which you can usually find on the 'bay or a whole slew of other places (even Amazon). Prices vary quite a bit, so check around for the best deal if end up going with these.

Here's the stock photo of what they look like:

I highly recommend the PB Swiss drivers...I'm happy with all of mine, including the Torx. Wera is also excellent, as is Wiha (as previously mentioned). For my money, I'd rate them in this order: PBS, Wera, Wiha.

The Matco Top Torque II should be nice (from the handle), steel quality should be good too... Cornwell has some nice ones too ... ;)

While considord ugly by many; the Wera drivers would be nice, excellent ergonomics and German quality steel! :)

Those are actually made by Witte, German goodness! I believe they are the same model as the Witte MAXXPRO® plus line!

I will say that they seem excellent quality; one thing, the other tech in the shop, really has a hard time keeping them clean.... the "hairy" part of the handles is a grease trap! Aside from that I don't see any downside to these drivers...! :)

My all time favorite torx drivers were the older, orange, hard handle Snap-ons. I sold them with a bunch of other tools. The handles were what made them my favorite, the driver ends, were decent, but I didn't push them that hard, since they were discontinued.

I'll be looking for another set soon, so I will see what comes up in this thread.

I have been using a set a Gearwrench torx drivers these days. they have been fine, very durable, comfortable handles.

I have some PB swiss bit inserts and handle. I think when I upgrade from my Gearwrench ones, PB Swiss will be the ones i get.

Check out the PB Swiss stuff, very fine

Witte makes the Cornwell torx drivers, I don't like the "sand paper" handles:confused: Too bad because the drivers are probably bullet proof.

I only have one Torx driver and it's a discontinued T15 Craftsman Industrial with the black hard rubber handle. Very comfortable - the only current Torx driver that comes close to that shape of handle would be the Swiss Grips.

C...C....Cuh...........Craftsman, you hate Craftsman Merk. You need to get some drivers, not a day goes by, I don't use them.

I have Bondhus Gorilla Grip torx key set and I'm not impressed with the duribility of the tips. They just don't seem strong to me. I havn't used them much at all and they already seem to have been slightly marred.

On the other hand, I have a few Wiha drivers and they are very durable. A few times I pushed them hard and was sure I had damaged them but they have held up quite well. The smaller ones don't fit well in my hand but the larger ones of the same shape do. I wish the smaller ones had wider handles but what are you going to do ?

These are the Wiha drivers I have:

Facom, SK (Expert 2) and Gearwrench all make comfortable, quality Torx screwdrivers. I use 'em hard with no tip failures yet.
