Who has a good size set of torx sockets? I need some torx sockets and would like to find a good size set of sockets. Truck brands are overkill for me, most of my stuff is Craftsman but they dont have much in the line of sets.

do you really need a full set, or do you need a full set of the basic sizes and then just add on some additional sizes that you might need.
I have alot of them but the bigger sizes get rairly used and some of the larger sizes never get used.
I would say that for most people anything over 3/8 wont get used much and anything over 1/2 will never get used unless you have a specific application

I have some spare stuff in the basic sizes if you are interested

nissan_crawler, do you mind doing a little "mini review" or at least pics of the Wihas? I don't remember if you posted any info about getting them in; would love to hear what your opinion of them is and how they worked out for you! :)

NAPA had a set I saw there. I don't remember the price. Maybe someone else can confirm this but I thought Danaher supplied them, same as they do for Craftsman, so they should be decent quality.

I have nothing against the "truck brands" because I do own a few because the sets contained just what I needed and was actually cheaper than buying the others with the added "junk" and then having to buy the other sizes.
The reason I am not buying the Craftsman set is because they come with screwdriver sockets. I have plentyof screwdrivers for that and would never use the sockets.

I don't have a need for the female torx sockets, and the rest of the kit is just "extra" stuff anyway.

If you had a motorcycle you would have a need for the female torx sockets, and the "extra" stuff is what will most likely not be used like the screwdriver sockets.
With that said it is looking like the truck brands may be the cheaper alternative for getting what I need.

Japanese bikes don't seem to use many Torx connectors. None of the ones I have use any. My new one uses quite a few female hex fasteners. From what I understand BMW does use Torx pretty extensively.

http://www.autopart.com/tools/toolsmain/tool/T_9680.htm Other types are 9500,9630,9640,9605 use search. Working on newer vehicles you will run across all types. Most of the torx and torx plus are USA mfg. The five sided torx plus tamper are foreign. I bought a set of these for my son. The torx plus are identical to my OTC and the torx plus tamper are identical to my Cornwell but less chrome. http://www.ntxtools.com/ handle SK and have OTC and SK look for torx and torx plus tamper. SK 84231 and SK 84232
