Hi,
I have installed a few mini splits before (1 LG and 1 Mitsubishi).
I am looking to install another, this time a two head unit. I have a question about the maximum length of tube sets I can use for this unit before having to add more refrigerant. One of the heads will need a ~12' line set (12' each way) and the other ~30'. So total length of suction lines is 42' and total length of liquid lines is 42'.
Looking at the manual for the compressor I'm considering (a 2 ton LG LMU24CHV), on page 9 it lists the "Piping Length No Additional Refrigerant (ft)" as 73.8. (sorry, can't post links yet but if you want to make your own link the manual is located at: w w w.ecomfort.com/manuals/ce56ec3f50ce2447cde623e5a79f2398.pdf)
What I'm wondering is whether or not this ~74' max spec is 'each way' or 'roundtrip'? Will I have to add refrigerant?
