Totally confused about Festool vacuum adapters

I have the typical green Festool hose with the rubber 27mm end. I want to use it with typical 1- 1/4" ID vac tools. Festool sells a lot of adapters but they are described as brand specific like Festool to Makita. I don't know what size a Makita port is, or many other power tools for that matter.

All I want is to use my Craftsman extensions and tools that fit also a regular household set of tools. 27mm to 1.25"

I usually just squash it into place and it works fine. Festool doesn't do generic or universal. Sounds like a good excuse to get a 3D printer.

I see why I'm having trouble then. OK, well cannibalizing some various flex sections from old vacs and stuffing a plumbing 1 1/4 tailpiece from a trap is what I use now. It's OK but I thought I could do better.

I'm not getting a 3D printer ala GJ style to satisfy my one need. But it does sound like a business opportunity.

My festool vac plugs directly "onto" Makita 5" ROS no adapter necessary. It also plugs "into" my Porter Cable 6" ROS but I need to put a piece of duct tape to keep it secure.

I bet you can buy 3d printed adapters for this on Etsy. Lots of folks making and selling this type of part

Yep, found one right away. 20 bucks. I'm not against a guy making some money, but that's in the Rockler price range for 3" of plastic. If I hadn't solved the problem on my own out of scrap I'd probably pay the price.

One thing for sure, if Festool sold this it would be over 30 bucks.

Anyway, thank you. At least I know there is one.

Another option for the future, if you know someone that has a printer, check for a file on Thingiverse. The community loves sharing stuff and you can usually get stuff like this easily.

I've grabbed a bunch of files and just shoot them over to my father. He loves playing with his 3d printer.
