I built my garage about 7 years ago. I never did get the inside finished, it is still studs with a open ceiling up to the loft. I am planning on isulating it, hanging sheetrock and putting up a ceiling. Now when it comes to the floor there are alot of grease and oil stains along with some paint spots. I know I can degrase it and scrub the **** out of it but will that be enough? I do want to do some sort of finish on the floor but I'm not sure if I can get it clean enough. I am not opposed to using Race-deck or tile but I am planning on instlling a MaxJax lift in the next year or so. I just wanted to explore my options before I proceed. Thanks, Todd

acid etch & bead blast = epoxy with some non skid.

stuff isn't forever though. 100% simple green will take the finish right off

I painted my floor about eleven years after I built the garage. There was a lot of oil stains on it by then (two years ago). I started with Simple Green, used quite a bit of that to start. It helped. Then I moved on to muriatic acid, several applications and lots of scrubbing. Then when it eventually looked acceptable, I moved onto the etching process. Lots of scrubbing, rinsing and vacuuming. I spent a ton of time on it, and it payed off. I painted it with the pro-grade epoxy kits from Menards. Rustoleum, I think, can't remember. Looks awesome and I've had no problems with it.
