Anybody got a good looking floor they weld and cut over?
Building a 30 x 60, I want a sealed floor I can work over and not destroy by weld and plasma cutting over.

Any type of decorative floor is not going to stand up to welding and cutting unless you cover those areas. Coatings will burn. Your best bet is a good penetrating sealer/system. You will retain the bare concrete look, but it will resist stains better and make cleanup much easier. This article gives some examples.

I've done a fair amount of welding on cold concrete since 1964 and have yet to have any "explode" on me. Do tiny chips pop out? Sometimes, but even that is a rare thing. Most times the piece of slag or melted steel cools so fast it doesn't have time to transfer any great amount heat to the concrete. We are not talking about a steel foundry here.

Any easily renewable industrial floor coating should do it. I used a full epoxy on the last shop and a partial on this one. Weld and grind, there will be a few spots - IMHO so what. I never did any real damage to an epoxy floor even welding a few inches off the floor.

Hi
The nice thing about epoxy floors is that they are easily repaired in case of a welding slag burn or pop. While we agree with the above, we have tons of installs in shops that welding goes on in.
