Finally done cleaning and sorting out my ToughCases forsale....converted to packout.

Some fumblings now that I am more familiar with the Packouts since I have them on hand to compare

The toughcases IMO are much durable in material in thickness on the tops. No -flex- at all. they sorta remind me of the pelican-esque cases as it does have a air-vent valve, which seems to infer/suggest the weather tightness of them relative. I initially bought the toughcases years ago, before the packout system was out.

I've never done a -drop- test but I do recall a video or 2 out there re: Dewalt vs Packout ....As I type this, I'm looking into the drop aluminum (corners) of the Packouts and off to do some more musings and comparisons

I feel the same. I think packout is the nicest out of all the tools boxes alike. But then again you pay for it. You get what you pay for. Only issue is if you load the bottom cart up with too much weight the handle feels like it will break if your rolling up curbs and what not. But so far it has not broke. Now FYI there is a company that makes an adaptor the will allow you to mount the thoughcase to the packout so like you can take the thought case but case and clip it to the packout. Since Milwaukee doesn’t make a good bot storage case unless you order the internal parts from a 3rd party. Witch that gets even more pricy.

What sold me on the tough cases was the ability to rack, not stack them & the dewalt cart is much sturdier. Cost was never a factor, the dewalt is just more versatile, eventually I'll have multiple trucks set up with racks & racks in the shop so guys can swap boxes as needed. Setting up organized specialty tool sets will be a time saver, remove it from a rack in the shop, put it on the rack in your truck, simple. I would love to see Milwaukee come out with a similar racking system.

I think the Packout system is more modular....but for a van setup, in profile the Toughcases are quite a bit less wide, which may be a good thing or bad ? I'm not in the trades so either platforms was not really much of a decision maker for me on racking. I just wanted a rolling cart...and when I saw the slim organizers, I knew I wanted a packout cart with tooling storage and then a few of the organizers ontop.

Build wise, the 2 IMO are much different in material/thickness (even though they are both made by Keter Israel). Each has it's pro's and cons

Any chance you know the name of the company? This would be a great development for a lot of us.
