New guy here. Excuse any stupid questions I might have. My inprogress shop will be my first without a dirt floor.

What is the toughest concrete covering made? I don't care about looks at all. I just want something that will last and last. If you've got something like that, please post it here. I'd appreciate it.

urethane concrete seems to be the toughest around......we use it where there is moisture issues and / or when self leveling is required. Tough as nails

Hummm, they used flame finished granite tile for the floor of Penn Station. I'm thinking if it can handle that kind of traffic, there's nothing tougher.

If you don't care how it looks, then go with a high-tensile strength concrete ( like what they make highways out of) and I would at least seal it if so you can clean it when you want. There are numerous members on this forum who can give you some expert input on concrete and proper installation ( Legacy, Wolverine, TheGarageGuy, etc)

Yeah, some of the concrete out there you can literally take a hammer to and would barely dent it. What you need though is one that can serve a purpose in your garage as well, such as prevent moisture failure, easy to clean, decorative, anti microbial, etc, etc......many different options out there....a good contractor could lead you the right way

What exactly does Ryan have? I guess his have been indestructible, but I don't know if he is as abusive to his as I plan to be to mine.

Ryan has (2) coats of HD356VOC neat.
We would recommend a primer coat of our Standard Sealer prior but it's your floor.

IF you are in Cali all bets are off for the HD356VOC. It's VOC level is too high.
We do make shipments to AZ or NV for some customers.

How about concrete sprayed with LINE-X XS-350, XS-650, or Paxcon (available in any color). They are used for blast mitigation, secondary containment, Discovery Channel's Storm Chaser's Dominator vehicles, bridge concrete support coating, sprayed in U.S. nuclear subs, portion of the U.S. Pentagon, portable buildings for Border Patrol, Force Protection's MRAP vehicle, and on and on......

Years ago I put a floor in at a Caterpillar Dyno testing facility. The floor was made by Euclid Chemical Co. It was an epoxy mortar, and used iron filings as an aggregate. It was very hard to put down, but the impact resistance was out of this world. I saw it a few years ago, looked like the day I finished it.
