I inherited this but no key, called Armchem and they informed me these units are not for sale but are loaned to businesses and no key would be made available unless I ordered a 60 dollar box of wipes.

Its in nice shape other than the dust and I can get cheaper towels at Cosco. Anyone have a key they could post a picture of so I can E-Bay one or does anyone have any ideas how to open the lock without destroying the unit.

Thanks in advance

I think they can be opened with a flat head. The key looks like a pin with 2 tabs opposite each other

We had the same dispenser at my workplace under a different brand name. This is similar to the key we used to open it: http://www.unifiedkeysource.com/product_info.php?products_id=78

I'm sure you could make something very similar to open it pretty easily. To open the latch, we'd insert the key and twist it 1/8th of a turn while pulling towards the front of the dispenser. There's two spring loaded plates inside the latch. When spread apart they allow the lid to swing out on the hinge. Anything with a T shape on the end that fits into the opening should do the trick.

Hope this helps!

According to the picture you posted, it looks like as mentioned above, a flat head screwdriver should work. But if you are looking for a key, check out the following link, they aren't very expensive and you could order a few different styles to find the one that works best: https://www.google.com/search?q=Paper+Towel+Dispenser+Key&rlz=1C1ARAB_enUS641US641&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ved=0CB4QsxhqFQoTCL29p7mIv8cCFdWAkgodi3oD9A&biw=1280&bih=595

Try bumping the dispenser with the heal of your hand while the key is turned. I have found some of them hang and are stubborn to open even after the lock is unlocked.

Mine has the little swiggly opening for a key, you have to out 2 flatheads in it and wiggle them around to get it to open, but I got it and a case of rolls for free so I'll deal with the screwdriver method lol

There is a wavy key to open those. Take Drexel make it a straight slot then use a jiffy cutter to open it. Flat box cutter. I work retail we modified all of ours so we could just hand a kid the metal sleeve of the box cutter no blade to change rolls.

There was an issue, didnt want to force it. Extra large screwdriver did open it and some lube on the swiveling joints will hopefully make the thing open easier in the future.

Thanks everyone for the help

You can get pretty much any key for those stupid cheap on Amazon. I got tired of the hand towels sitting on the toilet tank at work, ordered a key for the towel dispenser for $3.50 shipped!
