How many of you are using some type of paper towel, shop dispenser, hands-free towel dispenser, etc? If so where did you purchase them and what types. Thanks.

Kmart. Plastic ones. $2.99 each. Bolted them to the toolbox, under shelves, etc.. Everywhere within reach.

I'd like to find a stainless steel version that's reasonable.

I picked up a magnetic one from the local hardware store. I was a bit sceptical but it stays put on my tool box. Sorry, I don't remember the brand name

Got one from Griot's garage sale up here (looks like a sample) for $5... One of those ones where you wave over the front and it spits out automatically....

Sad thing is that the paper is the killer (like $10 a roll, plus shipping, not having luck finding it locally as of right now).

Check the yellow pages for janitorial supply, they should have a good selection to pick from and decent brands.

I built mine out of an "L" bracket, a broom stick end and two huge washers (one is part of the support and the other floats free so the paper towel will spin without binding). Crude, but its not even visible with a towel roll on there.

My Craftsman tool box set came with a peg board attachment for the lower cabinet, it had a slot and came with a dowel rod to hold a roll of paper towels. I'm not sure which model number it is, but it has the ball bearing slides.

Sounds good to me. Not "hands free" I guess, but I built mine from radius arm brackets, an axleshaft and a side gear LOL

The side gear is retained by a snap ring, but it's not necessary as the shaft doesn't move laterally or spin at all, it just sits there

I've got a roll type dispenser in my garage. Pull the lever down once you get about six inches. Keep cycling the lever for as long a piece as you want. A box of twelve rolls at Sams goes for around thirty. Sounds pricey but when you consider what a roll of Bounty costs it's not to bad. Paid $25 for it from the guy that was servicing the wash rooms on a job I was on.

I have a supply of old 3/4" galv pipe and fittings, so I'm gonna get a couple floor flanges and make some vertical towel holders. Probly need a big washer on the bottom to make them turn easily though. The 'powder room' is getting a dual-post holder, for those, uh, messy jobs...

I also have a TORK dispenser. I like the design, but didn't want to use up the volume in the area where I wanted it. So I took mine apart and "installed" it into the upper cabinet above the sink.

It looks like this:

The towels are of course using up space in the cabinet, but I'm OK with that- my main goal was to make the towel dispenser be as unobtrusive and easy to use as possible.

Apoligies for the fuzzy pic- it's all I have right now.

I like those rubber maid things just fine and buy common paper towels by the case. This one the sheetmetal springs against the conduit.

I did the black pipe/floor flanges, but I added a 90-degree bend and short 6-inch ****** to one end. It now bolts to the wall, and holds the paper parallel to the wall. Another flange at the end of the towel roll keeps the roll in place. Spins free, looks like it's meant to be in a shop, was pretty cheap, and couldn't be easier to build.

Here is a pic of my towel holder. It's just a cheap white plastic one from wally world mounted under a L shaped piece of aluminum. The alum is boltedto the wall with the GoJo dispenser mounted to it so all of the soap spills are on the shelf not the floor. The sink is huge made by Crane mounted on the wall are 2 castiron brackets that support the sink. I plan on istalling a mirror and a light above the sink (if you noticed the conduit and switch on the left) This is all mounted to the wall in the main shop area so that the real dirty clean up jobs are not in the bathroom. Dad got me this sink from a friend that removed it from a hospital remodel job.
