Wanted this garage when we moved in 12 years ago, unfortunately set backs and septic field caused the project to stall.

After review with the county it was determined that if we add an aeration tank to our septic system we would have enough space to construct garage. See pics below.

We have 1.1 acre lot and already have an attached 3 car garage. I only want 3 vehicles in there, no bikes, no snowmobiles, no 4 wheelers or motorcycles! And I dont want any of our 3 boats in the driveway!

Here's the area of our lot that will be home to the Toy Box. Its right on the lot line so takes up minimal back yard space. Unfortunately a nice pine has to go with a couple Box Elder Trees.

And today the concrete pour! Hand troweled joints, power troweled and garage door water stops. Doors will be (1) 16' x 9' high and (1) 9' x 9' high.

20" high concrete stem wall was to be stepped down to match grade but we decided to do it all the way around the building. its on a 12" wide x 14" deep thickened edge. Lumber showed up on Thursday and carpenters got a good start on Saturday.

Seems like my Toy Box is getting smaller!!

I agree. Plus wanted the height just in case. May need to store all the boats here someday.

Have walls completely framed laying inside on concrete, need to stand them up and fasten. Pics to follow tomorrow.

Bad news on windows, aren't shipping until 10/10! Not good, was hoping to have walls up and siding started while waiting on trusses (shipping 10/8)

Wall Framing - DONE! Sheathing - DONE! Tyvek - DONE!

Unfortunately trusses are delayed until 10/8 and windows until 10/10 so now we wait to finish exterior.

They did a nice job. Using it for the driveway too! Should have roof complete by Sat night. Then windows, doors and siding.

How did you build/use the trusses over the garage doors? Did you use two 30' end trusses? Curious since the end truss would be unsupported over the larger garage door. I am building a similar garage, but a 32x40 plus a 2' bump out for the large garage door.

One full (30') gable end and a smaller (20') gable end in front of it for bump out. We backed the 30' with another truss for support.

I'll try to take pictures of detail tomorrow before they sheet the roof.

Half the roof is done with sheeting, tar paper and the rain moved in. Hope to get it shingled tomorrow. Garage doors are at store as are windows. I'm painting the siding before they install it to have one good cot to start.

Will post pics tomorrow, it's coming along well.

Heres what we did in the front. Im not sure if i will just add some 2x4s so they can box in the space between the gable ends for drywall or if I'll trim the back gable to match trusses.

Garage doors arrived as did windows and entry door. Shooting for Sat install.
Might store this in the garage once in while while performing service.

Hi KK

You said it was getting smaller in your post # 11, wait till you get a few machines - bench's etc as it gets small real quick

Sure looks good from the outside

You might have already done this but I cut out scale size cardboard shapes of what you are going to put in the shop, then you can move them around to the look you like and the most room

Siding is complete and they are finishing the garage door installation. Concrete guys did final grading and hope to pour Monday. We have rain forecasted the next few days.

The garage matches my house exactly. Will post a side by side when doors are complete and driveway is poured next week. THIS IS AWESOME!!
