TOYO Steel small toolboxes from Japan

I got an ad in my Facebook today for TOYO Steel toolboxes. I don't know anything about the company, but they have a wide range of small boxes made in Japan that look like they would suit my organization fetish. There are also a couple of carts. Has anybody heard of them?

I’ve heard of them, and own quite a few.

Very nice boxes. Simple designs, nicely made and finished.

If you can’t find what you want by Toyo, look up “Trusco”. They are similar designs (sometimes small differences) but made by Toyo and equal quality.

Trusco T15, T150 and T190. The former are my “go to” for small tool storage - things like small drills and countersinks. The latter are perfect for 1/4” drive accessories.

Where I work we have quite a few Toyo injection molding machines for plastics manufacturing. Each press comes with a toolbox of things when it is shipped.

Edit: it looks like Toyo Steel is a stand alone company so the two could be unrelated.

This is what ours look like. They get repurposed a lot.

I stumbled on similar Trusco on Amazon. Have a really small one and a cantilever. Fit and finish are excellent. Reminds me of something vintage but obviously they are new production.

yes. toyo makes trusco boxes. search both names if you want more options.

Nice looking boxes. It's a shame smaller boxes like these are no longer made of metal and sold in the USA. Everything this style at local hardware and big box stores are all plastic.

Yes, shipping from japan is a lot because 1. it shows up here fast and 2. it's a big box.
Check Ace Hardware! They dont have any listed on their site but the one here in Washtenaw County seems to stock - my guess is they can order some in.
otherwise..Trusco seems to have the same from Amazon.

I've got 2 of the ACE cantilever toolboxes that I bought clearance for $2 a piece a few years ago. I feel like they should've paid me to them of their hands. Absolute garbage.

I bought a Toyo Blue Cantilever and it's is a great toolbox. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one again and wouldn't think twice about a small box from them. Except i'm not paying that price for shipping. Maybe bundle up to help save or do like me and some friends, we buy stuff together and save on shipping.

Maybe bundle up to help save or do like me and some friends, we buy stuff together and save on shipping.

I have two - the second one was from Amazon and they currently show next day delivery, free with Prime. The bigger one shows 2 day delivery but at $211 I can’t convince myself to pull the trigger yet.

Tweezers are Aven 18480EZ. I bought them on Amazon but looks like might be out of stock there, Zoro does have them though https://www.zoro.com/aven-color-coded-tweezers-set-6-pc-18480ezf/i/G4061233/

The small box for the sockets is the Trusco T-190. The sockets are inch/metric semi-deep Snap-On that I did custom foam for.

I’ve got a small Trusco box that came with a set of facing mills. The mills were garbage, but that little box has held my countersinks/counterbores for 20 years now.
