My '78 Toyota suddenly stopped going in the forward position...Works great in reverse...Hit the brake pedal a couple times and it starts to go...I notice there a 3x6" block the brake pedal shaft passes though before the shaft on the other side has an adjustable linkage that goes in to the bell housing...I remove the filler plug to the "block and it appears "dry"...At a loss as to what type of fluid go in it...Smells a bit like gear oil...Don't want to add the wrong stuff...The box sits on top of the bell housing, right in the center...****** fluid is full and clean...Thought I heard someone mention something about this at one time...Any suggestions from you forklift guys...? Thanks, Kevin

Hmmm...It's an automatic transmission...Thanks for looking...I read a while back that the brake system has something to do with it...Tells the ****** when to engauge...When you let off on it...Still tring to figure out what fluid to add to the separate "box" on top of the bell housing...Starting to think I might add hydrolic jack oil...
