I did read the link and I will agree that something is fishy. He's whining about TPTools and claiming he had issues. I've bought from them numerous times and never had any type of issues. I won't quit doing business with them because of this one guy.

It's called a customer feedback. Naturally, everyone is free to do or think whatever he wants.

As for "joining the forum to complain", I joined it 1 year ago. And I prefer reading to writing. When I have anything to contribute, I do. If not, I'd keep reading. In this case I decided to contribute. It was this forum that made me call TP, in the first place. And I share my own experience with this company and its owner.

Is it fishy? Maybe... But, at least, I'm honest.

I agree. I read his post at that other place, and I'm wondering who he would be screaming at if somebody got ahold of his Visa, and ordered something and had it shipped to a completely different address than what his Visa had on record....

"What do you mean, you shipped it to that address!?!?! That's not even my address! Don't you morons even question when somebody orders something and it goes to a completely different address!?!?!?"

I bought my Champion compressor from TP tools, and I was very satisfied with their people.

Well, you do need to register a different address with your CC. It's a one time deal, I remember getting rejected until I did it on a CC order 5 or 6 years back. Should you have gotten an email from TP saying so? Absolutely.

Cliff notes-

OP ordered blast cabinet
Guy on the phone was rude
billing and shipping addresses were different
Item wasnt shipped
OP took a day off work to sign for it
Called and talked to the owner, OP didnt get the answers he wanted
Item was supposedly overcharged although the order was canceled
OPs first post on GJ
OP is showing TP tools whats up

Moral of the story:
TP tools wont ship to anything other than the billing address

Your credit card company is the problem. I have register alternate shipping addresses with my credit and debit card. Call them and told them to add a registered shipping address.

If they charged your card that is one thing, but they may have run the test, which will show up as a charge and then be deleted when they don't process it.

I can understand the having to stay home to sign, I usually tell them to leave it at the shipping depot and I leave a little early and pick it up.

I have a large blast cabinet from TIP that I ordered on line. I avoid the shipping problem by having anything big shipped to a good friend's body shop, I do this for two reasons, 1) I avoid the residential delivery surcharge and 2) somebody is always there and I can pick it when I am available.
That doesn't excuse an *** on the phone that will hurt the company's business, but I have never talked to anybody from this business, I do all my ordering on line and have never had a problem, delivery or otherwise.

I ordered a cabinet from TP. Had it held at the UPS freight depot in Forrest Park, GA, and picked it up on my trailer, but I had no problems with TP. Since then I have ordered a replacement roll of glass protectors and some tips, no problem. That is my only experience with them, but it was good.

Well, there's always two sides to every story and this is just one side with ancillary contradictory comments from others. I would not let the OP sway my decision. The other thread seems bent out of shape. I know for a fact you can register an additional address and that fraud is a very big problem with CC orders. I'd call that strike 2 against the OP.

While I'm sorry the OP had a problem... I too have dealt with TP for something like 15 years and haven't had a problem.

I remember having to list my former office address with the credit card company so some vendors would ship there...no big deal. In fact I find it hard to believe that the OPs credit card company never heard of this.

Keep reading the above mentioned thread, guys. The situation with credit card cleared up.

I don't see how it excuses TPs approach and attitude toward a customer, but, at least, they didn't lie about shipping address verification possibility.

For those that don't want to bother reading 'the other thread', here's Micheal's latest post:

I just called my Visa again. Got another rep., and she told me that, indeed, an option to put alternative shipping addresses exists. To verify one, the merchant would have to call the bank and ask to check additional address fields for alternative shipping addresses.

Per my request, the lady has added a few additional addresses there.

Now, at least, I accept the fact that TP didn't BSed me on this issue.

FWIW, I have been a satisfied TP Tools customer for many years. Good prices & decent quality products. I have always received my orders promptly.

ill be honest if im shipping something out i only send it to the address which the card is registered to because my card system will reject it otherwise.. there are a lot of crooks out there and that's the mail reason.. buy something on someone elses card and have it shipped to another place so you can keep it kinda thing.. ive never dealt with tp but it sounds to me like they are a no ******** organization.

I've spent thosuands with TP Tools over the years, never had ANY problem whatsoever. Looks like the OP is a doofus & needs to rip Capitol One a new ***.

Incidently, I used to have a Cap One card, had nothing but aggravation EVERY time I used it.. which was 6, maybe 7 times. Solved that issue by putting it through my shredder.

I also have had nothing but positive transactions with TP Tools. That being said, even the best companies have bad moments.

True. Things happen. However, the owner had a chance to take the situation under control and find a compromise. He perfectly understood that I wasn't a thief. Instead, he demonstrated a complete indifference. So this is not an accident. They just genuinely don't care about their customers or reputation.

or he didnt care for the earfull from you and about how you knew better regarding additional addresses. Work in retail and deal with the public, your patience wears thin pretty fast. Sometimes you come accross a customer that sounds like they cant be pleased so you write them off, that would appear to be you in this instance.

By the way what you saw in your online CC profile was most likely a pending charge, why it was more i have no idea but had the order gone through it most likely would have been corrected. I've seen this a few times.

Or maybe it's just you they don't care about :lol_hitti

Sometimes you come accross a customer that sounds like they cant be pleased so you write them off, that would appear to be you in this instance..

Of course it's me who is guilty! How could anyone even imagine that it could be the other way around?

It's really sad. We used to call it "slave's mentality".

P.S. I "deal with the public" every single day. I treat people. And I cannot even imagine a situation when I would allow myself or my employees to do anything like this to my patient. How would you like if I schedule a surgery for you and don't come to work? "Sorry, I changed my mind! But I sent you a letter yesterday." Or deny you a treatment because I suspect you're giving me a wrong home address? Or simply don't return your call?

But it's all your fault, of course, isn't it?

Sad, really sad...

P.P.S. By the way, I had to reschedule my patients in order to run 50 miles to receive the cabinet that has never been shipped. That's why I came home after midnight yesterday and was at work at 6 am this morning. Then I'll have a few more days like this. For some reason, I didn't feel comfortable to simply ignore my patients or reschedule them for October. And can you imagine, I treated some of them at no charge just because they didn't have money to pay? What an a$$h@!&, right? This sucker simply deserves to be treated as the scum of the earth! First, he has a nerve to call and inquire about shipment. Then he goes as far as voicing his opinion on a public forum. Who does he think he is? How can he possibly be right? He, who posted his first post on the Forum?

I rest my case. Back to the reading mode. :)

X2!!

I've been in quite a few times over the last few months, they know me by name, and always ask how my project is going. Have been VERY impressed and will continue to shop there!

I've been buying from TP for many many years, as many orders as I place with them per year there's bound to be mixups and there have been. They were always quick to remedy them without issue. There's 2 sides to every story, from your attitude here I wonder what TPs story would be.

i' ve never had any dealings with TP, i purchase most of my parts, and accesories via the web.
every time theres been a discrepency between billing and shipping addresses, it took about a day and either a couple of emails or phone calls to cust service to get things straightened out.

i agree with previous posters, an "attitude" on the phone, or in person gets you an attitude back.

I run a full time powdercoating shop and have ordered all of my blasting equipment and supplies from them since day 1 when I opened the doors. That includes everything from my pressure blaster to blasting cabinets. I order at least once or twice a month for various consumables like nozzles, media, cabinet lens supplies and gloves.

In the dozens of orders I have placed over the years, never once, not one time, have they missed the mark in any way. The orders are always properly filled and shipped promptly. To me they posses perfect business practices.

Easiest way to avoid the rejection from the CC company is to give them a call either prior to, or right after you make the purchase. All they need is a "Hey I just bought this from so and so" and they will let it go through.

I have done this many times as I have family in the US that I have items shipped to.

Never had an issue.

why didn't you get it shipped to your work?

I had something stolen once off my doorstep. Now, everything gets shipped to my work. Hell, sometimes my friends will have their stuff shipped to my work.

I joined a mountain biking forum just to ***** about the mail order service I got from a company. I spent $5,000 on a mountain bike. For me to spend $5k on something I have never seen, I expect the company selling it to kiss my ***. I got a lot of **** from the people on the forum and little sympathy. To me 5k is A LOT of money. Most of my friends cars don’t cost that much.
I felt I really screwed over and wanted everybody to know so they didn’t make the same mistake I did. The masses didn’t care, so now when something doesn’t go my way I just don’t bother.
This guys original post on other forum (he has 270 post there) is warning others of the problems he had. I have only bought one thing from TP about 10 years ago. For the most part I feel they are overpriced but that is just my opinion.
When you try to buy a toy for yourself and you don’t get it you get bummed. If they end up costing you money to not get the item, and then make no effort to sell you the item at reduced cost, then I or anyone else would or should be pissed. When a company makes an effort to please you, cuts you a break to keep your business, then you can chose to take the deal or not.
I think the guy has a right to be pissed, and if anyone wants to ship to a different address then a billing address then know they know it might be a problem.

Me too, I made my first purchase probably 20 years ago, when it was TIP, and my latest was a last summer, always good service, and good quality, and pricey... but fair.

Snap-On does the same thing. I don't like it. I have billing addy separate from the shipping (for privacy reasons), and this has only rarely been inconvenient. Actually, SO is the only one I've never been able to deal with direct because of this.

Also had great experiences with TP Tools. And, have never had an issue with shipping to addresses different from the billing address as long as the merchant is aware of it. I have never had to establish multiple addresses with VISA, AMEX or MC.

I went to TP, TIP not sure what it was called - I was a tad surprised to discover the only replacement parts they sell are to their cabinets. On one hand I understand, but on the other hand it doesn't make any sense - I have an honest to goodness commerical cabinet and gun - I'm sure as heck not gonna down grade it with their stuff. Not meant to be a slam - just a bit confusing - I would have expected them to at least carry some of the popular guns/parts. Other than that - I thought that they were EXTREMELY PROUD of their products. Personally I appreciate the heads up - a wise man once told me to never "beg" someone to take my money - when there are so many willing to earn it. YMMV

Your Ford dealer isn't going to sell you Chevy parts either. They sell their brand of equipment and the parts to service it. Why would you be surprised to find out that's all they carry ?

Myabe I am wrong, but I wasn't under the impression that they MANUFACTURE the blast guns - I was under the impression that they buy them from an OEM and then they add them to their cabinets. I would agree with your post had I been looking for a pickup tube (a part specific to their cabinet) - but I was surprised that they only carried 1 brand of blast guns - when commercially they are several top brands out there.
Consumables are consumables - just seems like a lost revenue stream to me.
Get me to stop in for a nozzle and maybe while there I grab a couple bags of media and some tearoffs for my non TiP cabinet?? Seems like good marketing to me - but what the heck to I know - I'm using a zillion year old blast cabinet...
