The nice thing about the Autel is it's od2 connector, it lets you get the codes from the car's computer to clone them. A real time saver if your cloning winter tires or wanting the codes but one of the sensors are dead.
If you were in fact buying from "The Mother Ship" that ship would be located in China and not North Americabut don't be fooled into thinking you're buying direct from the mother ship
This might be worthy to investigate. If you are considering replacing the sensors with genuine Toyota sensors, here's what I found that pertains to my Tacomas. It might be the same for your vehicle. Toyota sensors are supplied by Denso and Denso just rebadges them. They are actually manufactured by Pacific Industries for Denso. Purchasing the Denso sensors will be far cheaper than the Toyota sensors.Trying to decide which is the best and least expensive way to go. I would not mind having a reader just because I've never had one and the Autel is not super expensive.
Correct. However, there is also an Autel North American headquarters located in Port Washington New York. (look it up if you don't believe me) It's a real building, with real American Autel Employees...... and the seller on eBay known as "Autel-US" is NOT "Autel North America".If you were in fact buying from "The Mother Ship" that ship would be located in China and not North America
I dont have experience replacing oe sensors but I dont see how they just link up automatically. Even when I do a tire rotation I have to relearn their positions on the car. The car doesnt automatically know where the tire is.
The autel is a great machine and their sensors are also very good. I've installed a bunch of them and never had any issues.
Isn't Autel a Chinese company and the units made in China?I doubt "Autel US" is the official Autel company itself. It sounds like just one of the many on-line Chinese Autel sellers.... Such as "Autel Direct", or Autel Online", or "Autel Official", or, "Autel Choice", etc, etc. There are a BUNCH of them..... and none of them are the ACTUAL Autel company. The reason why I say this is because the official name of Autel that is located in Port Washington New York is "Autel North America". Theses on-line sellers make their seller name deceptive for a reason. I'm not saying you wont get what you pay for with these sellers.... but don't be fooled into thinking you're buying direct from the mother ship, either. These on-line sellers are basically Autel "dealers". In fact, if you click on the "About" tab for the seller, you can see information that confirms they are not part of corporate Autel

Yes. With several headquarters around the world. My ONLY point was.... if you buy from a seller called "Autel-US" then you're NOT buying DITECTLY from the Autel company. That is it! Nothing more! I can't be any more clear.Isn't Autel a Chinese company and the units made in China?![]()
All of this is true, but what's weird is if you buy a scan tool from a Chinese seller, either on eBay or Amazon, or elsewhere on the internet, and you return that item (for whatever reason) back to the original seller..... It eventually finds it's way back to Autel North America in Port Washington New York.Autel has a US dealer and dealers in other regions and they don’t cooperate but will all sell to you. When you need help, if you need help, the US dealer won’t help if you bought elsewhere. Something to consider and research further. More of an issue with high level scan tools where you might need help.
If you buy an Autel scan tool from Amazon (for example) you're buying an Autel scan tool from a Chinese dealer who gets them from Autel in China. These are NOT knock offs. (even though I'm sure knock offs probably exist) These Chinese scan tool dealers sell their products through Amazon as private sellers..... so you're technically not buying FROM Amazon, you're buying THROUGH Amazon. However, you're still covered by Amazon's return policy so you really have nothing to worry about. If anything is not right about your new scan tool, or if you cannot register it with Autel to get your software updates, (for example) you just return it back to Amazon for a refund. Amazon is great with their return policy and just for that reason, I would NOT buy a Chinese scan tool from anywhere else.
I was just asking because there seemed to be a lot of concern about eBay Autel sellers being located in China, like they might be selling knock offs.
Doesn't seem like big thing if the company and the relatively right priced products originate there. Chinese knock-offs of Chinese products?
