What is everyone using around here to solve their tpms issues. I work in a small shop and see maybe 2-3 bad sensors a month. I was looking in to getting the $1600 snap on set up but after learning a little today about cloning I was thinking I could just use my scan tool to track the issues down and then use a cloner to replace the bad sensor.

I am pretty much in the dark here as I don't know enough about these sensors to know what I really need or want.

Does anyone have a link for the topic of "cloning"? This is a new one for me .
Thanks.

When one of my TPMS had failed on my 2006 Ford Explorer 4x4, I had done some reading. It sounded like you could put the TPMS computer into learning mode and then use a speaker magnet on each valve stem to have the computer relearn it. Then, when you got to a sensor it wouldn't learn, you found the bad one.

I had an extended service plan which I finally had a significant enough problem to bring it in for ($100 deductible) so they fixed it under the warranty.

I know alot of companies like Standard motor products offer cloneable sensors and the tools for them. I know alot of guys going to this so you don't have to stock so many sensors.

This is what I figured. It's cheaper and closable sensors cover 80% of the vehicles out there. We don't do to much in tie sales so I think this route is going to be enough. I doubt I'd make the money back on a high dollar tpms tool, I an just not setting enough come in that need work.
