I am the process of moving a natural gas BBQ since it is too close the wall. I turned off the gas and removed the pipe leading from the patio floor. Tracpipe (1/2") was used to bring gas to this point (under patio floor). When I removed the black pipe/valve etc from the Tracpipe fixture, the latter came apart. Question... can I just screw this self sealing joint on the end of the Tracpipe back together or does the it have to be replaced?

Tracpipe uses a fitting that is reusable, the nut or floor flange should be whats tightened rather then the piece that the valve threads to, make sure both sides if the split ring are in the proper place as well. Soap bubble it afterwards.

Make sure you bond the fitting for the TP. All CSST has to be bonded to prevent getting blown apart in lightening strikes.
