Tractor cab Shop Project

I headed back to the shop 3 weeks ago to putter and ended up building a cab for my little snowblower tractor. Next week I will design a overhead panel for the switches to control the lights.

Thanks for the kind words. Here are a few steps during the build. Including the wiring parts and switches I have just over $1,100.00 into the cab. The Lexan for the windows was pricy and 60 feet of steel tubing . Also 2 sheets of 18ga. sheet metal. Hard to believe all those materials for just a little cab, ha,ha.

Here are some back views, still need to attach all the rubber molding edging . Excited to start the overhead console and wiring. The new extended bucket project for my old mini loader has worked great also. We have got 151" of snow so far this winter and no sign of spring. More snow today and next weekend. The cab is going to be so nice.

Not sure yet about the heat ? Just having the wind off me is going to be very nice. Not too happy what I am reading about these little diesels and the low amount of heat they put out . And the idea I would probably have to change alternators to a larger one. A deluxe heater and all the extras could cost as much as the whole cab , ha ha. So for now I am thinking no heat.

Off topic somewhat but how do you like your little Waldon loader? There is one local to me for a decent price that I have been eyeing but I havent talked to anyone who actually owned one.

I love that little old mini loader. Still starts everytime even below zero sitting outside. I had two of them at one time but sold one. I move a lot of snow around every winter with it. I have had it 7 years. I paid $3,000.00 for it . No frills , but built like a little tank. I have front forks for it too.

Finished tractor cab pics. It was great to be back in the little workshop the last four weeks and now I have a cab to keep me out of the blowing snow. I installed 1" styrofoam in the ceiling and around the front and back. I bought a 6 switch box for the lights and got 2 60amp breaker fuses for extra safety along with 2 more 40 amps . One is real handy to push and disconnect everything when done . Even at full throttle little to no rattling vibration type noises so happy about that. Not 100% air tight but with no heater I have to have some air flow. I did mount a defroster fan though. I love the little mini strobe lights.

Thanks again for the kind words. I still think we will get more snow so I will get some action shots and a couple dark pics showing all the lights . Last year we got 18" of snow on April 19th . It was lightly snowing this morning .

You could always add a coolant powered heater to the cab to get heat.

Just a thought.
If you add enough heat to melt the snow on your overall, it it may cause fogging on the cold glass.

That may mean more, different, fans.

Maybe, if you are comfortable, just let it be.

It is awesome enough as is.
