Just bought 3500 lbs winch. How good are they? And can i modify to make it wireless?

I have the 3500# winch I rate it "good" for the money....... Definitely not a Warn winch. I purchased this winch (4years ago) because of the price and I did NOT want a wireless remote. This winch is installed on a UTV and has pulled me out of some difficult situations. The only complaint I have is that the cable is rusty but that can be expected for a winch at this price..... I may just replace the cable with a synthetic rope.
BTW! You can modify any winch to make it work with a wireless remote...... Wiser to buy a Bad Land wireless remote winch right from the beginning from Harbor Fright instead of modifying a non remote winch.

15" Crescent brand adjustable wrench was $24.99 - 15% off all hand tools = $21.24 + Tax. :)

Made in china though... Still seemed pretty good quality.

Bought atv 3500 lbs winch. Its a fkn joke. Returned the first one due to cable got jammed from pulling in a rewind mode. I pushed the forward button alil bit to pull the clutch manually.. it got stuck... So thats the first one.. second one same result. I rather to get a bigger one spend a few hundred bucks more perhaps from harbor freight

Thanks. The garden hose seems to be the same material

I leave my Flexzilla garden hoses out year 'round. I live in the Midwest, and they freeze every year with water in them, never had a problem. I've had mine for about 6 years.

FlexZilla inflators now $8.49

edit: IME mine is not accurate when I let off the trigger. I have to remove from valve core and then press back on to get a (lower) accurate reading

At $19.99 this is about the best you'll do for a "gearwrench" (Jobsmart) "completer" set in fractional

I actually did a return and rebuy of the inflator today from $12.99 to $8.49. Had to go to the store anyway, so why not.

I saw they had the inflators marked down to $8.49 at mine too... Also had the 2pk of 50ft jobsmart hoses from $15 to like ~$8... Also the flexzilla grease guns were marked down, don't remember price.

Tempted to go back and get the hoses & inflator. I don't really need them, but with the 100ft of hose, plus the 50ft I have, I can run a line from my compressor in the garage around the side of the house to the back yard. Then I can buy a nail gun when I build my shed and get it done quicker... hehe...

Ratchets. I actually picked up the 1/2", Chinese but not bad. The head is only 9/16" thick which is less than the Craftsman low profile in 1/2" drive. The rubber grip inserts, I dunno...probably fall out in a few months

That reminds me I've been needing to get some rivets! When I moved for the life of me I can't find my big bag I had.

Also I want to see if they lowered the price anymore of that flexzilla inflator.

Someone gave me one of the JobSmart 3/8" flex head ratchets this summer...nice long handle. It's a smooth action though don't know how many tooth it is. Can't say if I would have bought one outright though.

Overall I like some their impact rated stuff. Stuff on the racks was Cro-Mo , but lately they have a lot of bin sales on stuff. I think a lot of it is weird like camouflaged tools but I guess when you need to hide your wrench that'll be handy. :D

Anyhow there was a lot of CrV rated impact sockets and piled in with them for $12 on clearance I quickly see 1/2 drive set both metric and SAE turned out with a closer look it wasn't impact rated and was only reg type socket set but with a black finish

This was it here

Any how here is a picture of the Job Smart flex ratchet next to a Tekton 3/8 breaker bar I sell

Yeah the two ratchets pictured are 72T. Backdrag on my 1/2" is minimal and action is smooth. I actually haven't put a socket on it - I should do that!!

Who makes the Jobsmart tools?

I'm not too keen on off-brands like that unless they are clearanced stupid low, or I'm in a bind and need a tool and that's the only thing around, or I know I need to "modify" it or it will be a one-use kind of thing.

I agree. Even at the $14 I paid it was not a stellar deal. I don't know who makes them but it really seems like (present day) Harbor-Freight quality. Does HF offer any ratchets with rubber "inserts" in the handle like these?

I found a HF low profile but it's very different in overall design and head design than the Jobsmart, so NOT the same I'd say.

edit: I found a Master Mechanic which appears identical; they want $29.99 for 1/2" but True Value is never exactly competitive on tool pricing

double edit: I also found a Klutch (NT house brand) but can't find it on NT's site. Here's a Google link:

I noticed as part of their Dollar Days right now they have gallons of their house brand (CountyLine) bar & chain lube at $6. Solid deal you've got some cutting to do.

Our store has it for $5/gal... lol. But yeah that's about as cheap as it gets.
